Full Job Description
Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center is one of New York City's premier acute care hospitals. 8:00 A.M - 4:00 P.M; Monday to Friday. *[35 Hours per Week.]

Duties & Responsibilities

Purpose of Position:
Under direction of the Director of Health Care Standards, develops and maintains a computerized system for monitoring and assessing quality of medical care and allocation of health care resources by Physicians in health care facilities for determining optimal achievable quality of patient care.

Examples of Typical Tasks:
1. Performs software and software systems analysis to determine alternative computer software programs in discharge of functional activities.
2. Maintains liaison with key officials in Corporate Information Systems division and outside contractors, consultants, vendors and hospital and user departments in connection with systems design and development projects under his or her supervision.
3. Coordinates systems activities with Physician advisory committees as may be required to develop and incorporate components of PSRO which may be applied in automated systems.
4. Performs feasibility studies for new systems development or for changes/extensions of existing systems with respect to computer applications and implementation activities of PSRO programs, objectives and goals.
5. Is responsible for preparation of a series of comprehensive reports generated from systems and subsystems operation in connection with scheduling and allocation medical resources from quality assurance programs in health care facilities.
6. Develops and trains Corporate and staff personnel in the use of automated systems and computer applications with reference to functions and operation activities of user hospitals and departments in quality assurance in health care facilities.
7. Consults with and provides advisory services to other Corporate organizational units and to ensure that their operations are integrated and compatible with computerized programs developed and designated for the quality assurance area.
8. Establishes and maintains the SPARCS Data Base corporation-wide.
9. Participates in staff meetings and conferences.

Minimum Qualifications
1. A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university in Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or an approved systems-related program; and,
2. Six years of full-time, paid experience in business, government, hospital, educational institution or a non-profit organization in the development, analysis and implementation of systems and subsystems, manual and computer application, of which two years must have been in a supervisory, administrative or consultative capacity; or,
3. A Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in the programs in (1); and,
4. Five years of full-time, paid experience as indicated in (2), with one year required at the supervisory, administrative or consultative level; or,
5. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
