We are currently searching for an engineering professional to join our Avionics Design Quality Assurance (DQA) team. We are looking for an experienced
Electrical Engineer who is interested in applying their technical skills and experiences and working together with others to achieve excellence in design quality and efficient lifecycle execution. This position is responsible for working closely with engineering teams to provide
quality-focused technical and process oversight of ASIC/FPGA product developments throughout their lifecycle.
As a DQA team member, you will help ensure designs meet quality expectations, as well as customer, regulatory, and other requirements. To be successful in this position will require a passion for quality and continuous process improvement as well as the ability to build rapport with the engineering project teams in order to influence adoption of engineering best practices.
This role will be worked onsite in Melbourne, FL or Cedar Rapids, IA. Relocation assistance is supported.What You Will Do:This position is responsible for working with engineering design and development teams throughout the development lifecycle to provide quality-focused technical and process oversight of ASIC/FPGA engineering development of Avionics products. Working with the engineering and DQA team, you will:
- Perform proactive, ongoing technical and process audits to determine the quality of engineering projects using objective criteria and known best practices
- Analyze, identify, and promote adoption of meaningful quality metrics to find trends and systemic issues
- Provide guidance to hardware engineering teams as needed in the areas of process and regulatory requirements to ensure effective project execution
- Establish rapport and credibility across the organization, including leadership, engineering teams, shared service teams, and customers
- Help to foster a culture of quality process and products
Qualifications You Must Have:- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
- Hands-on engineering experience executing DO-254 (aerospace certification) or equivalent structured hardware development processes across the full lifecycle (planning, requirements, design, implementation, verification, and certification)
- Direct experience developing, reviewing, or verifying ASIC and/or FPGA designs, including requirements capture, architecture definition, HDL development, and test artifact creation
- Experience preparing, managing, and maintaining hardware lifecycle documentation required for certification (e.g., PHAC, HAD, HVVR, traceability data)
- Experience using formal configuration management and change control systems for electronic hardware development
- Experience conducting structured peer reviews for hardware design, requirements, and verification artifacts
- Experience using industry standard design, simulation, and verification tools for ASIC/FPGA development (e.g., HDL simulation, static analysis, linting, requirements management)
Qualifications We Prefer:- Knowledge of effective Design Quality Assurance principles
- Knowledge of FAA Regulatory Requirements and / or experience in civil certification focal roles
- Knowledge of industry requirements such as CMMI
- Experience in AGILE development environment
