As an Armed Security Officer at a higher education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and respond professionally to campus needs. This armed post requires applicable licensing. You will provide exceptional customer service and communication while supporting a caring, reliable team that acts with integrity and delivers through teamwork.

What You'll Do:- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus guests while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate campus personnel and emergency responders as needed.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
- Monitor access to assigned locations, verify credentials when required, and report suspicious persons, conditions, and policy violations in accordance with site procedures.
- Carry and maintain assigned duty equipment in accordance with applicable laws, licensing requirements, training, and Allied Universal and site-specific policies.
Minimum Requirements:- Possess a Concealed Carry Weapons Permit.
- Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
- Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
- Possess a Law Enforcement Officer License.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
