Full Job Description
Eaton's ES GEIS CHD division is currently seeking a Area Sales Manager - Houston. This is a hybrid role for candidates currently residing in Houston, TX. Relocation is not provided. Up to 50% travel is required.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $115000 - $168000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you'll do:

This role will develop and implement the territory's growth strategy, with a focus on product specification, conversion and by gathering voice of the customer for new product development opportunities. The Area Sales Manager will be accountable to lead, direct and develop a team of sales representatives, that will have the responsibility of achieving the established sales and margin goals, while managing agents, channel partners and end users.

In this role you will:
  • Develop the territory strategy, in alignment with the overall region and business strategy.
  • Execute and communicate a compelling strategic value proposition through sales agents, distributors, specifiers, and end users.
  • Plan and direct the efforts of the territory sales teams in securing sales volume through conversion and specifying activities.
  • Gather and leverage the voice of customer to recommend new or modified programs to ensure a competitive position is maintained within the market.
  • Utilize negotiation skills to influence and resolve complex problems and influence all stakeholders to drive results.
  • Establish and monitors staff performance and development goals, sets objectives, establishes priorities, and holds accountable by providing timely coaching and feedback.

Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in electrical industry sales.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred, from an accredited institution.
  • Experience with hazardous location equipment and cable management products.
  • Entrepreneurial leader with proven track record of leading and developing teams through various aspects of the business cycle (growth, downturn).
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills; ability to establish and maintain relationships.
  • Superior organizational agility skills; ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports, peers, and customers internal/external to the organization.
  • Strong mentoring, coaching experience to a team with diverse levels of expertise.
  • Ability to operate as an effective tactical as well as strategic thinker.
