About this role

Carrier Commercial Services is seeking an experienced HVAC Area Project Manager Lead to oversee and manage commercial construction modernization and Building Automation Systems (BAS) controls projects across the North Texas coverage area. This is a working leadership role: in addition to leading a team of project professionals, the Area Project Manager Lead will actively manage projects alongside the team, staying hands-on in planning, execution, and delivery. This role requires a highly skilled leader to ensure the successful completion of projects while coordinating with both internal and external stakeholders to drive project success. This position must be based in Dallas, TX and is incentive plan eligible.

Key Responsibilities
  • Primary work location: Dallas, TX.
  • Oversee the North Texas coverage area, including Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, Oklahoma City, and Tulsa.
  • Supervise and mentor a team consisting of Project Managers, Project Engineers, Controls Field Engineers, and Project Coordinators.
  • Directly manage a portfolio of projects alongside the team, owning planning, execution, financial performance, and customer relationships on assigned jobs.
  • Lead and manage project schedules in collaboration with the project team to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.
  • Ensure projects meet all milestones, timelines, budgets, and performance targets.
  • Utilize Carrier Project Management tools and systems to manage and track project progress.
  • Develop and implement best practices for project management, including standards, procedures, and tools.
  • Maintain and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including revenue backlog forecasting, underbilling, revenue reconciliation, and assistance with accounts receivable issues.
  • Facilitate effective communication between project teams, functional groups, and external clients.
  • Assess project team staffing needs and recruit new team members as necessary.
  • Use job information systems to monitor job-specific data and support procurement/manufacturing requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all Carrier policies and codes of conduct.
  • Perform other duties as required to drive project success and continuous improvement.


Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of HVAC experience
  • 4+ years of project management experience
  • 1+ years of experience in Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn new software applications
  • Willing to travel up to 35% within the assigned coverage area

Pay Range
The annual salary for this position is between $79,000.00 - $158,000.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate. The pay range will not be below the minimum wage applicable to the jurisdiction in which the applicant is to be employed.

Other Compensation
This position may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
