Full Job Description
The Area Project Controls Manager plays a critical role in ensuring that the capital construction program is delivered on time, within budget, and to defined quality standards. In this role, you will lead a small team of project controls professionals on this first-of-a-kind, multiple GW-scale region, establishing and enforcing controls frameworks that span cost management, schedule analysis, risk quantification, and change management. You will partner closely with the Construction Director, supply chain executives and teams, procurement, and finance to provide integrated program visibility and drive data-informed decision-making to enable this unprecedented scale.

Responsibilities

Manage the area team comprised of Project Controls Leads and Schedule Leads managing Project Controls and Schedule management for 5GW regional portfolio
• Set and embed team's vision for proactive risk management, commercial accountability, financial and schedule compliance and business reporting within the area
• Provide active leadership and influence in cross-functional forums such as health reviews, performance reviews, and external meetings, using project control based data and insights
• Responsible for holistic financial and schedule reporting (for the designated area) to the business (including finance) and our financial partners in collaboration with our delivery and design teams
• Serve as the primary point of contact and escalation for for all cross-functional peers and team members within an area, related to the schedule, planning, and project controls matters
• Maintain a relationship with General Contractors and Integrator Partners (i.e., continual communication of expectations and performance feedback, programmatic initiative collaborations, etc.)
• Management of the onboarding and training process for new team members
• Oversee productivity and performance metrics, including progress measurement, cost performance index tracking, and schedule performance index reporting across multiple concurrent construction projects
• Drive change management governance by reviewing, validating, and processing contractor change orders, potential change events, and owner-directed changes in accordance with contract terms
• Produce executive-level project controls reporting packages, including cost-at-completion forecasts, schedule variance analysis, risk registers, and contingency drawdown summaries for leadership review
• Collaborate with finance and capital planning teams to support annual capital expenditure planning, cash flow forecasting, and portfolio-level budget reconciliation

Minimum Qualifications
• 10+ years of experience in project controls, construction management, or program management on large-scale capital construction or infrastructure projects
• Experience in managing or leading project control teams across large capital projects or programs
• Experience in developing and presenting cost and schedule performance reports to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
• Experience with project controls software platforms such as Primavera P6, Oracle Unifier, Procore, or equivalent construction program management tools

Preferred Qualifications
• Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
• Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
• Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
• Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
• Professional certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Cost Professional (CCP), or Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP)
