To be a recognized leader in executions and interactions with customers by embodying Edrington's commercial excellence principles and luxury behaviours. The Area Manager manages all aspects of the assigned territory, by leading their team to build long-term brand value. Key pillars of the position include elevating The Macallan, developing the next breakout brand, and growing our core business organically. Success in the position will deliver (or over-deliver) against defined annual P&L goals and continued exceptional growth of the Edrington brands with focus and discipline. The Area Manager will also play a key role in building relationships with trade and consumers along with distributor partner to shape the business in their territory.

Make an Impact

  • The Area Manager will spend approximately 35% of time growing the business by leading and developing their region, 25% managing our distributor partners, 20% with key accounts and 20% state boards/agencies
  • Assist in building Edrington's vision to become the World's Leading Portfolio of Exceptional Ultra-Premium Spirits
  • Lead the implementation of the strategic direction for the assigned territory across all channels and segments and clearly communicate the Strategic Direction and Edrington priorities to Distributor Sales Teams. Instil belief and create buy-in throughout distributor teams
  • Work effectively with Marketing, Commercial Finance, and Operations to deliver against the Strategic Imperatives of the organization, delivering exceptional in market results
  • Ensure optimal allocation of Edrington and Distributor resources against brand standards within the assigned territory
  • Develop the next breakout brand with a laser focused approach to ensure the right product in the right place with the right price and the right visibility
  • Build KPI's, capture and report all trade and consumer interactions and activations in Aforza
  • Analyse effectiveness of activities through reporting and impact capabilities, adapt accordingly for maximum ROI
  • Brand Building: Challenge the status-quo and put the consumer at the heart of the conversation, oversee the planning and execution of the local marketing plans, support all nationally lead activities at the local level, act as an unwavering brand guardian
  • Pricing Management: Oversee the implementation and execution of the local pricing strategy, negotiate selling costs and margins, maintain an active awareness of competitive activity
  • P&L Management: Deliver against depletion targets, grow brand value, manage A&P, and additional local marketing investments to deliver the annual profit plan within the territory
  • Supply Chain & Compliance: Deliver against the allocation strategy, supporting exceptional customer service, and ensure legal compliance across the assigned territory


Your Talent and Skills

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of leadership, strategic thinking, and commercial acumen. Experience in distributor management is highly desirable, and leadership ability is essential. A strong background in sales and marketing is strongly desired, along with a thorough understanding of both On and Off premise channels.

The role requires a strong grasp of marketing strategy and mix, coupled with the ability to align actions with organizational vision. You should be skilled in coaching and mentoring, recognizing team performance, and developing talent. Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills are a must, along with good working knowledge of syndicated data tools such as Nielsen, Salesforce, IRI, and Diver. The successful candidate will demonstrate solid organizational awareness, the ability to manage complexity, and emotional intelligence. We are looking for someone who can manage a broad network of internal and external partners, analyze complex business issues, and make decisions that drive company success. An entrepreneurial mindset and a positive attitude toward challenges and opportunities are essential.
