Description

We are seeking an Architectural Project Manager to join our New York office.

EwingCole's NY office is home to a successful and rapidly growing interdisciplinary team of architects, designers and researchers specialized in innovative healthcare design. We are searching for a multi-talented, passionate professional to join us in creating uniquely tailored healing environments for a wide array of clients.

As an individual interested in this position, you should have project management experience and be interested in the opportunity for career growth into an office leadership role. We believe you should desire to develop your diversity of architectural expertise including planning, design, construction technology, documentation, and construction administration. You will be primarily responsible for delivery, design excellence, project quality, and client satisfaction. As a successful candidate you will work in tandem with a EwingCole Principal on a series of healthcare projects in all phases of the design from conceptual planning to construction administration and project close-out.

Essential Functions:

This role provides expert leadership in:
  • Project Delivery: Progressing project work from schematic design through construction documentation, ensuring design intent and technical quality are maintained
  • Quality Standards: Promoting project quality through adherence to and the ongoing improvement of the company standards
  • Cost Consciousness: Analyzing construction cost estimates for alignment of design intent and approved budgets and develops alternatives for controlling project costs

Demonstrates advanced skills in:
  • Profitability: Effectively managing fees, resources, and the project delivery schedule to ensure the financial health of a project
  • Documentation: Guiding the modeling and drawings used to accurately deliver projects
  • Construction Administration: Managing the construction phase through responsive coordination with the builder to maintain design intent and contractual requirements
  • Sustainability: Conceiving projects with rigor to resolve human and environmental health impacts and meet sustainability goals

Exhibits proficient ability in:
  • Building Technology: Applying an understanding of construction methods to building design
  • Codes and Accessibility: Ensuring project designs and construction documents fully comply with applicable codes and accessibility standards
  • Programming: Progressing exploratory discussions to capture and align quantitative and functional requirements with aspirational and experiential goals
  • Planning: Developing effective spatial configuration options through analysis of adjacencies, phasing and expansion
  • Representational Skills: Guiding the visualization of design concepts
  • Design Generation: Initiating the design approach to distinctive solutions which consider the totality of a project
  • Material Research: Selecting quality materials and identifying appropriate applications that consider the lifecycle of the products
  • Presenting Narratives: Conveying design vision through engaging and informative presentations to project stakeholders
  • Specification Writing: Defining the design intent for material qualitative requirements and performance standards to ensure contractually enforceable and accurate representation of the design

Shows foundational capability in:
  • Site Planning: Addressing project, sustainability, and regulatory requirements in the development of sites


Requirements

  • Bachelor of Architecture or Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • Registered Architect or Professional Engineer in at least one state with suitable credentials for registration in other states
  • Prior experience in the healthcare industry
  • Prior experience with the preparation of construction documents on a series of large, technically sophisticated projects
  • Experience with Contract preparation
  • Understanding of CPM scheduling

The actual offered base salary for New York locations will vary depending on factors such as individual qualifications, education, experience, skills, job-related knowledge, work location, and internal equity.
