STV is seeking a talented and motivated Architectural Designer to join our Buildings practice in NYC

In this role, you will contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of complex architectural projects serving institutional, transportation, civic, higher education, healthcare, justice, and public-sector clients. Working as part of an integrated multidisciplinary team, you will support all phases of project development, from conceptual design through construction documentation.

The ideal candidate is a technically strong architectural professional with advanced Revit capabilities, a passion for design excellence, and the ability to collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, and project stakeholders. This position provides significant opportunities for professional growth, technical development, and progression toward architectural licensure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop architectural designs, construction documents, and technical detailing utilizing Revit and BIM technologies.
  • Prepare plans, elevations, sections, details, schedules, and other project documentation with a high level of accuracy and quality.
  • Participate in all project phases, including conceptual design, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Architects, Project Managers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver coordinated design solutions.
  • Assist in conducting building code, accessibility, life safety, and zoning research to support project development and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate architectural models with structural, MEP, civil, and specialty consultant disciplines within a BIM environment.
  • Support the preparation of project presentations, design studies, renderings, graphics, and proposal materials.
  • Participate in quality control reviews and help maintain project documentation standards and BIM best practices.
  • Attend project meetings and contribute to technical discussions, coordination efforts, and project planning activities.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members on project documentation and Revit workflows.
  • Support construction administration activities, including submittal reviews, RFIs, site observations, and coordination with contractors, as applicable.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
  • 3 to 7 years of professional architectural experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Revit and BIM-based project delivery.
  • Experience producing construction documents across multiple project phases.
  • Working knowledge of building codes, accessibility requirements, and life-safety standards.
  • Strong technical detailing, problem-solving, and coordination skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Progress toward professional licensure, including active NCARB AXP participation and/or ARE examination progress.
  • Experience supporting public-sector, transportation, institutional, healthcare, justice, or higher education projects.
  • Familiarity with BIM execution planning, model management, clash detection, and multidisciplinary coordination workflows.
  • Experience utilizing visualization, rendering, and graphic presentation software such as Enscape, Lumion, Twinmotion, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools.
  • Construction administration experience is a plus.

Compensation Range:

$95,975.90 - $109,686.74
