TheInfrastructure and Facilities Assurance Department (IFAD)is the source ofexpertisein Operations and Facilities Engineeringto our corporate customers.IFADprovidesan array of technical capabilities that support our customers in assuringthe availability, readiness and success of ground assets/servicesrequiredto meet the needs of the space enterprise.

We have a current need formotivatedarchitects/project managerstojoin our high-performing team in solvingsome of today9shardestproblemsand help evolve our capabilitiesinmeetingthe technical challenges of tomorrow.This position requiresan innovative but decisive individual who works effectively in a highly collaborative, team-based environmentthatcan set goals/expectations and effectively execute.We are seeking experienced candidateswith the ability to lead multi-disciplinaryprojectteamsproficient inall phases ofprojectdesignandcontrols,includingarchitecturalprogramming,requirements/conceptdesign development,construction, operations & maintenance/sustainment.

Work Model: This is a hybrid positionlocatedin El Segundo, CA or Chantilly VA.

RESPONSIBILITIES[WhatYou9llBe Doing]

We expect the candidate to:

  • Beself-motivating and able to work without appreciable direction from managementwith overall responsibilityfor project engineer and project administrator dutiesdirectly relatingto each project

  • Serve as project leader and coordinator of a team of technical contributors,identifyingissues,prioritizingtasks,facilitatingcommunications,andacting as spokesperson for the working group

  • Provide technicalexpertiseinidentifyinginnovative technologies and operational enhancements to improvefacilitydesign, safety, resiliency/reliability,and cost efficiency

  • Utilize and/ordevelopandimplement advanced analytical techniques to evaluate facility systems andoptimizeoverall systems design

  • Deliver independent, data-driven technicalreports andrecommendationsto management and customers through effective verbal and written communication

  • Develop/evaluatedesign criteria;review A-Edesignpackagesfor adherence to designobjectives,technical completeness,and accuracy;support construction and commissioningactivities

  • Developproject scopes of work andpre-conceptualdesign documentation,budgets, projectcostestimatesand planning/schedulingdocumentationtosupport thefacilityacquisition/procurementprocess

  • Employ a rigorous and methodical approach to problem solving andidentifyingroot causeof facility system failures

  • Act as mentor to team members, providing orientation, technicalguidance,and development insight

  • Travel to customer and/or government facilities whilerepresentingthe company and department in a professional manner

MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONSREQUIRED: Engineering Specialist [WhatYouNeed to be Successful]

  • Bachelorof Science(BS)degree inArchitecture,Project/Construction Management,or relatedengineeringdegreefrom an accredited school

  • A minimumeight(8)yearsofexperience infacilitydesign, construction,operation,and maintenance,preferablyina US-basedArchitect-Engineer (A&E) firm

  • Registered Architect orProfessionalEngineer (PE) license(current)

  • Demonstrated experience withtheprogramming,design, construction,operation,and maintenanceoflarge multi-site/facilityand campus type facilities

  • Demonstrated project management experienceand ability toleadmulti-disciplineprojectteams

  • Self-Starterwith proficient time management skillsto multi-task and manage several projects simultaneouslyand deliver results within established time boundaries

  • Strong interpersonal skillswithexcellent written and oral communication skills

  • Workingknowledge ofcurrentcommercialbuilding codes and regulations (e.g., IBC, NFPA, etc.)

  • Proficiencywith AutoCAD and/or analogous computer-aided drafting programs

  • Development ofstatementsofwork and project costestimatingexperience

  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project, and Visio

  • Abilityand willingnessto travel(Domestic/International)
