Position Summary

Stengel Hill (SH) is seeking an experienced, licensed Architect with a strong background in healthcare design to join our Tampa Bay office. This role is intended for a seasoned professional with demonstrated success leading complex healthcare projects, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and managing client relationships throughout all phases of design and construction.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical and project leadership skills, experience working within healthcare environments, and the ability to effectively coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and healthcare user groups. Candidates with familiarity within the Tampa Bay and Florida healthcare market are strongly encouraged to apply.

Position Overview

  • Lead and manage healthcare architectural projects through all phases of design and construction
  • Coordinate and oversee project teams, consultants, schedules, and deliverables to support successful project execution
  • Collaborate with Principals and firm leadership to support client relationships and healthcare project pursuits
  • Provide technical leadership, project coordination, and quality control for project documentation and deliverables
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, consultant coordination, and project interviews as needed
  • Prepare and review construction documents, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and construction administration documentation
  • Coordinate with internal design and technical teams to ensure projects align with client goals, project scope, schedule, and budget
  • Mentor and support the professional development of architectural staff and project team members
  • Maintain working knowledge of applicable healthcare codes, AHCA requirements, permitting processes, and industry standards
  • Support client relationship development and participate in project pursuit activities, as applicable
  • Maintain strong coordination with consultants, contractors, and healthcare user groups throughout the project lifecycle


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture
  • Active Florida Architect license required
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive architectural experience, including experience leading complex projects and project teams
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating healthcare projects through Florida AHCA review, permitting, and approval processes
  • Demonstrated experience leading acute care, behavioral health, and other healthcare project types
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare planning, clinical coordination, building systems, construction materials, detailing, and applicable codes
  • Experience managing projects through all phases of design and construction administration
  • Strong communication, organizational, and client relationship skills
  • Revit proficiency required; working knowledge of AutoCAD a plus
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines


Preferred Qualifications

  • Market familiarity within the Tampa Bay and/or Florida healthcare sector preferred
  • Experience participating in project pursuits and client presentations
  • Experience mentoring and leading architectural staff
