Job Summary:

The Application & Systems Integration Engineer role for the Raymarine Sales & Business Development department is primarily responsible for designing, developing, integrating, supporting, and servicing digital switching and vessel automation solutions for OEM boat builders and strategic marine customers throughout the Americas region. This role is integral to Raymarine's growth strategy, helping OEM customers successfully integrate innovative vessel control, networking, and automation technologies into their products.

This position acts as a technical bridge between OEM customers, Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and Technical Support teams. You will work directly with customer engineering teams to define requirements, develop solutions, commission systems, troubleshoot complex issues, and support new product adoption. The role requires a strong technical background in software development, networking, systems integration, and customer-facing technical support.

This position may be based in either the Hudson, NH or Jupiter, FL office and requires travel throughout North America to support customer engagements, vessel commissioning activities, technical training, and industry events.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop integrated digital switching and vessel control solutions for OEM customers.
  • Support OEM partners through design, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and ongoing lifecycle management.
  • Develop software tools, applications, scripts, and integration solutions supporting Raymarine digital switching products.
  • Create system architecture, wiring diagrams, network layouts, and technical documentation.
  • Provide technical consultation and support for:
    • NMEA 2000 networks
    • Ethernet-based marine networks
    • Digital switching systems
    • Vessel automation systems
    • Third-party integrated technologies
  • Troubleshoot complex hardware, software, networking, and system integration issues both remotely and on-site.
  • Partner with Sales and Business Development teams to identify, develop, and support OEM opportunities from initial evaluation through production implementation.
  • Conduct customer training, product demonstrations, and technical workshops.
  • Support factory acceptance testing, vessel commissioning activities, and sea trials.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering teams to provide customer feedback and support product improvements.
  • Develop into a subject matter expert (SME) on Raymarine digital switching, networking, and vessel automation technologies.
  • Additional assigned duties.

Job Qualifications:

  • Experience with software development, systems integration, technical support, marine electronics, automation systems, networking, or related technical disciplines.
  • Experience with one or more programming languages such as C#, C++, Python, JavaScript, or similar technologies.
  • Working knowledge of networking technologies including TCP/IP, Ethernet, VLANs, and network troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with NMEA 2000, CAN-based systems, digital switching, vessel automation systems, or related technologies preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and network architectures.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • A self-starter, team player, who is adaptable and able to operate in ambiguous scenarios.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and customer communication skills.
  • Experience working directly with customers, OEMs, installers, or technical stakeholders preferred.
  • Microsoft Windows and Office 365 experience, including Teams and related collaboration tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure and cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, Product Management, and Technical Support teams.
  • Ability to travel up to approximately 25% annually.
  • Familiarity with leveraging AI tools for productivity, troubleshooting, and technical analysis.
  • HS Diploma or GED required. University degree, technical certification, military technical training, trade school education, or equivalent industry experience preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, technical training, and relevant work experience will be considered.
