Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Ansible Automation Engineer to help build, enhance, and maintain an enterprise-wide Ansible Automation Platform. The role involves developing automation solutions, implementing software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes for automation content, establishing controls for shared enterprise automation resources, and supporting systems engineering activities across complex technology environments. The ideal candidate will have strong Unix/Linux administration, scripting, Python, and Ansible expertise, along with the ability to collaborate across teams, influence technical initiatives, and align automation solutions with enterprise standards, compliance requirements, and organizational goals. This is an individual contributor role that requires technical leadership, analytical thinking, and strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
• Build, enhance, and maintain the enterprise Ansible Automation Platform.
• Perform complex engineering and analytical tasks related to automation, systems engineering, and platform operations.
• Establish input/output processes and operating parameters for hardware compatibility, subsystem coordination, design, and system integration.
• Serve as a technical resource by providing expertise and technical guidance as both a team member and an individual contributor.
• Develop controls for automation platforms, with a focus on shared content catalogs across enterprise tools.
• Implement and maintain the SDLC process for managing automation content.
• Participate in the design, development, and implementation of systems engineering activities, including technical support, systems programming, and data center capabilities.
• Influence and coordinate activities across teams supporting special initiatives and operational priorities.
• Evaluate applications and platforms across the organizational portfolio to identify opportunities for alignment, integration, and enhanced service offerings.
• Incorporate AI-assisted development tools and multiple AI channels into standard practices to improve productivity, consistency, and quality across technical deliverables.
• Collaborate with multiple groups to gather business requirements and support product evidence and software license compliance.
• Analyze complex application infrastructure and develop models to support compliance reporting.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders across organizational regions.
• Communicate technical concepts, recommendations, and project updates clearly to technical teams and senior management.
• Support the transition from TrueSight Server Automation (BladeLogic) to Ansible as the target-state automation tool.
• Contribute to planning, preparation, and engineering support activities associated with automation platform modernization.
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in Unix/Linux administration and scripting, including YAML, XML, Python, Perl, and Shell.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with the Ansible Automation Platform.
• 5+ years of demonstrable Python or similar scripting experience.
• Strong systems engineering experience, including the ability to work with complex enterprise infrastructure.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical information to senior management.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to gather requirements and coordinate with multiple stakeholder groups.
• Strong analytical, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, complex, and dynamic business environment.
• Proven ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across different organizational regions.
• Ability to understand complex application infrastructure and develop models for compliance reporting.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted development tools.
• Experience with TrueSight Server Automation (BladeLogic), particularly in engineering support, transition planning, and migration to Ansible.
• Experience with enterprise automation content management, shared catalogs, and SDLC implementation for automation.
• Experience supporting enterprise compliance reporting, software license compliance, and infrastructure governance.
