Full Job Description
The Metals & Mining investment banking team of Cantor is seeking a highly motivated, successful candidate to join as an Analyst in its Toronto office. The group advises clients on strategic and financial initiatives including mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt capital raises, restructurings, and other advisory assignments.
Analysts are provided significant responsibility within the full transaction process, including conducting financial analyses, building valuation models, preparing presentation materials, execution of live transactions, conducting due diligence and assistance with new business development. Lean transaction teams provide Analysts with a strong learning platform early in their careers. Candidates must have a strong interest in investment banking, solid quantitative and analytical skills, and the ability to think broadly about strategic issues facing global Metals & Mining clients. A working knowledge of accounting, valuation, finance, and business strategy is required.
Responsibilities
3 Coordination of various processes, including capital raises and advisory transactions
3 Prepare and analyze historical and projected financial information
3 Perform financial analyses and create financial models
3 Coordinate industry and company-specific due diligence related to transactions
3 Perform industry research to support pitches and new business generation activities using tools such as Bloomberg, S&P Capital IQ, and LSEG Workspace
3 Prepare confidential information memoranda, management presentations and marketing pitches for clients
3 Organizing and participating in marketing and client meetings
3 Work closely with senior bankers and deal teams on cross-border transactions, gaining exposure to global markets, investors, and strategic buyers
Qualifications
3 0-3 years of relevant work experience; prior investment banking experience is not required, however candidates with investment banking or relevant job experience is a plus
3 Undergraduate degree with strong academic track record (minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0, or equivalent)
3 Excel grasp of corporate finance, valuation, and financial accounting
3 Self-motivated individuals who demonstrate initiative, drive, and leadership
3 Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple project deliverables simultaneously
3 Strong written and verbal communication skills
Salary- $100,000 - $110,000 + Discreitonary Bonus
