Position Overview

Aksia is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated professional to join our team as an Alternative Investment Strategist. This individual will produce concise, effective research and communicate the firm's views with prospects and clients (particularly RIAs). The role combines research expertise, thought leadership, and client engagement, making it an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives at the intersection of investment research and relationship-building.

This role can be based anywhere in the US, with a preference for New York City and will include regular interaction with Aksia colleagues, clients, and partner organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation & Research Communication
  • Produce concise, compelling thought pieces by leveraging existing company data, research, and insights.
  • Reshape and shorten existing company research to create a widely accessible narrative.
  • Develop fresh, innovative topics and angles relevant to fundamental alternatives research and interval funds.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitor strategies, and market dynamics to enhance research relevance and quality

Speaking Engagements & Thought Leadership
  • Speak at industry events, panels, and webinars to articulate the firm's research insights and value proposition.
  • Provide accessible explanations of complex research findings to engage and educate clients and prospects.
  • Establish the company as a thought leader in the interval fund and fundamental alternatives space.

Client-Centric Collaboration
  • Work closely with the pan-alts and asset class teams to align research efforts with client needs and business goals.
  • Develop tailored materials to support client conversations and investment decision-making processes.

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in investment research, asset management, consulting or a related field, with a focus on alternative investments.
  • Strong familiarity with RIAs, institutional investors, and their unique needs in terms of research and investment strategies.
  • Exceptional ability to produce clear, concise, and engaging written materials.
  • Confident and articulate presentation skills with a track record of speaking at industry events or client forums.
  • Deep understanding of fundamental analysis of alternative investment strategies and asset classes.
  • Ability to translate complex research insights into actionable ideas for diverse audiences.
  • Strong knowledge of alternative investment strategies and semi-liquid funds

The estimated base salary range for this position is $180,000 to $275,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. Aksia provides a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and local cost of labor.
