Description We are seeking an experienced
Aviation Electrical Engineer with a strong background in airfield electrical design, construction management, and project delivery to join our growing Aviation division in any of our
Northeast office locations.
Key Responsibilities - Lead the planning, design, and construction administration of airfield electrical projects, including runway and taxiway lighting systems, navigational aids (NAVAIDs), signage, power distribution systems, and related airport infrastructure.
- Prepare and oversee the development of engineering plans, specifications, cost estimates, technical reports, and contract documents in accordance with FAA standards and applicable codes.
- Manage projects through all phases, from conceptual planning and design through bidding, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
- Provide construction management services, including contractor coordination, submittal review, field inspections, change order evaluation, and project documentation.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop engineering and technical staff while ensuring quality control and adherence to project schedules and budgets.
- Coordinate with airport owners, FAA representatives, regulatory agencies, contractors, and multidisciplinary design teams.
- Support business development activities, including client relationship management, proposal preparation, interviews, and strategic growth initiatives.
- Develop project scopes of work, staffing plans, schedules, and fee proposals for aviation projects.
- Participate in marketing efforts, attend industry conferences, participate in professional societies and associations, and identify opportunities for new and repeat business.
- Ensure compliance with FAA Advisory Circulars, airport design standards, electrical codes, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment while providing leadership on complex assignments.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
- PE required
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience leading FAA-compliant aviation electrical projects
- Managing technical staff
- Developing client relationships and supporting business growth initiatives.
- Requires both technical expertise and leadership skills to successfully deliver complex airport and airfield infrastructure projects
