As our AI Governance Lead, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring that AI is deployed responsibly, ethically, and securely while helping unlock its full potential across the enterprise.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and evolve Alcoa’s AI governance framework, including policies, standards, processes, and oversight structures that enable responsible AI adoption.
  • Play a key leadership role as a member of the AI Steering Committee and help shape enterprise AI strategy, governance priorities, and decision-making.
  • Develop and manage AI intake, inventory, and risk management processes to ensure compliance, transparency, and accountability.
  • Partner with Legal, Ethics & Compliance, Data Privacy, Procurement, Cybersecurity, Audit, and business leaders to govern AI technologies and third-party solutions.
  • Drive AI awareness, training, and stakeholder engagement programs that promote ethical and responsible AI use across the organization.
  • Establish governance metrics, monitoring processes, and executive reporting to measure compliance, risk, adoption, and business value.
  • Stay ahead of emerging AI technologies, regulations, and industry trends while helping guide Alcoa’s AI roadmap and future direction.

What you can bring to the role

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in AI governance, technology risk management, data governance, compliance, privacy, or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of AI technologies, including generative AI, machine learning, large language models (LLMs), and associated risks and governance considerations.
  • Experience leading cross-functional governance, compliance, risk, or enterprise transformation initiatives.
  • Knowledge of AI regulations, data privacy requirements, ethical AI principles, and risk management practices.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills, with the ability to influence across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Relevant certifications such as CIPP, CIPM, AI governance, data governance, risk management, or related credentials are a plus, as is experience in manufacturing, industrial, or global enterprise environments.
