AI DevOps Technologist
The Opportunity:

As an AI DevOps Technologist you'll design, build, connect, and operate AI tools and automated workflows that help Booz Allen teams deliver secure, reliable results. You'll be a hands-on technical contributor helping teams use approved AI models, automate work, and connect AI tools to enterprise systems.

You'll work with engineers, product owners, cybersecurity practitioners, and platform teams to turn business and operational needs into practical solutions. You'll help make sure those solutions are secure, reliable, easy to use, and easy to support. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

What You'll Do:
  • Design, configure, test, deploy, and support AI tools and automated workflows.
  • Set up and operate the AI Gateway, which provides controlled access to approved AI models. This includes access permissions, model selection, API connections, usage tracking, and audit records.
  • Lead the secure, maintainable connection of AI tools, APIs, enterprise applications, and workflow platforms.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts, workflows, technical documentation, runbooks, and implementation guidance.
  • Plan and carry out testing, troubleshooting, and release activities for AI tools and automations.
  • Partner with cybersecurity and platform teams to protect data and implement secure sign-in, permissions, access controls, and monitoring.
  • Support cyber operations, including work with 5.5 and Mythos.
  • Review tool performance, usage, user feedback, and recurring issues to identify improvements.
  • Improve prompts, workflows, and AI assistant configurations to increase accuracy, reliability, and ease of use.
  • Provide technical input in design discussions, code reviews, backlog refinement, and sprint planning.
  • Coach junior team members and clearly communicate technical decisions, risks, and recommendations.

You Have:
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, systems integration, platform engineering, automation, cybersecurity operations, or a technical field
  • Experience delivering business or enterprise software, automation, integration, platform, or application solutions
  • Experience implementing or supporting AI tools, automation platforms, AI gateways, workflow technologies, or enterprise applications
  • Experience with cloud platforms, DevSecOps practices, identity and access management, logging, and monitoring tools
  • Experience integrating systems through APIs, webhooks, or service-based architectures
  • Experience building secure system integrations, including sign-in, permissions, access controls, logging, and audit records
  • Experience with cloud platforms, automated software delivery (CI/CD), identity and access management, or monitoring tools
  • Experience troubleshooting complex technical issues, documenting solutions, and driving work to resolution
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across engineering, cybersecurity, product, and operational teams
  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience with AI Gateway capabilities, including model selection, usage monitoring, or governance
  • Experience with AI assistant workflows, prompt improvement, model evaluation, or orchestration tools
  • Experience with containers, Kubernetes, automated infrastructure setup, or cloud AI services

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
