Full Job Description
About the role
We are looking for a hands-on developer with real AI agent experience to lead Psomagen's company-wide AI transformation. You will design, build and operate AI agents on top of the tools our teams use every day: Google Workspace, HubSpot, our in-house LIMS and SAP. You will work directly with the CEO and with every function, identify where agents can remove manual work, ship them quickly, and keep them reliable in production. This is a builder role, not an advisory one.
What you'll do
Design, develop and operate AI agents using Hermes and comparable agent frameworks, and keep the underlying models swappable as better ones appear
Connect agents to our business systems (Google Workspace, HubSpot, LIMS, SAP) and choose the right way to integrate each one, so that agents can read, draft and act within defined permissions
Work with sales, project management, lab operations, finance, regulatory/quality and IT to find high-value workflows (for example quoting, customer communication, document management, reporting and internal Q&A) and turn them into working agents
Build the supporting infrastructure: knowledge retrieval over company documents, evaluation and testing of agent outputs, logging, monitoring and cost control
Put guardrails in place: role-based access, audit trails and human approval steps for actions that touch customers, finance or regulated records
Collaborate with our LIMS development and bioinformatics teams so that agents fit our existing systems and pipelines
Train employees to use agents effectively, gather feedback and keep improving what is deployed
Track new AI models, tools and practices, and bring in the ones that make a practical difference to the business
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, software engineering or a related field
4+ years of professional software development experience, with strong Python skills
Demonstrated experience building and operating LLM-based agents in production or in substantial real-world use (tool calling, multi-step workflows, retrieval, prompt and context design, evaluation)
Current knowledge of frontier AI models and agent tooling, with the ability to explain trade-offs among models, frameworks and cost
Experience connecting software or agents to business systems (for example Google Workspace, HubSpot, an ERP such as SAP, or similar), including authentication and permission design
Strong communication skills, and comfort working with non-technical colleagues to understand their workflows
Awareness of data security and privacy requirements when AI handles customer, financial or health-related data
Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
Experience with Hermes or similar open agent frameworks, and with Google Cloud
Hands-on experience with Google Workspace administration and APIs, Apps Script, and HubSpot
Experience with LIMS, SAP or other laboratory and enterprise operations systems
Domain knowledge of sequencing services or genomics, especially bioinformatics (pipelines, workflow tools such as Airflow, QC and reporting)
Experience in a regulated environment (CLIA/CAP, ISO 9001 or ISO 27001)
Experience with SQL and data pipelines
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary range: $70,000 to $140,000, depending on experience and qualifications, plus a performance-based bonus
