An established, multi-location equipment dealer is seeking an Agricultural Equipment Sales Representative to grow its customer base and market share across a Central Indiana territory based out of its Lebanon, Indiana store. The territory is made up of row-crop, livestock, and specialty operations of every size, from family farms to large commercial growers, backed by a dealership with a strong reputation for parts and service support.
This is a relationship-driven, outside sales role for someone who understands agriculture, speaks the language of the farm, and knows that the sale is only the beginning of a long-term partnership. You will manage an established book of customers while developing new accounts, supported by a full team of parts, service, and precision ag specialists behind every deal.
What You Will DoGrow the Territory• Sell new and used agricultural equipment, including tractors, combines, planters, tillage, hay and forage, and application equipment, to farm operators within an assigned territory.
• Manage and deepen relationships with existing customers while prospecting and converting new accounts, including conquest customers running competitive brands.
• Conduct on-farm visits, field demonstrations, and equipment walkarounds to understand each operation and recommend the right solutions.
• Represent the dealership at field days, farm shows, customer events, and community functions.
Build and Close Deals• Prepare quotes, proposals, and trade-in appraisals, and structure deals that are profitable for the dealership and make sense for the customer.
• Work with manufacturer and third-party finance partners to present financing, leasing, and incentive programs.
• Negotiate and close sales, and coordinate delivery, setup, and customer orientation on new equipment.
• Maintain disciplined gross margin and help manage used equipment inventory through accurate trade valuations.
Partner Across the Dealership• Work hand in hand with parts, service, and precision ag teams to support customers throughout the ownership lifecycle.
• Identify opportunities for service agreements, extended warranties, technology upgrades, and parts sales.
• Relay market intelligence on competitor activity, pricing, and customer needs to sales leadership.
Stay Organized and Accountable• Track leads, customer activity, and pipeline in the dealership CRM and business system.
• Forecast sales and meet or exceed volume and margin targets.
• Stay current on product knowledge, manufacturer programs, and industry trends through OEM training.
RequirementsRequired•
Experience: 2+ years of agricultural equipment sales experience, or a strong farming background combined with a demonstrated record in outside or B2B sales.

Ag knowledge: Solid understanding of farm operations, crop cycles, and how equipment decisions affect a grower's productivity and bottom line.

Relationship skills: Ability to earn trust with farm operators and build long-term, repeat business.

Self-motivation: Comfortable managing your own schedule and territory with minimal oversight.

Business sense: Ability to structure deals, evaluate trade-ins, and protect margin.
•
Logistics: Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the territory, including early mornings and seasonal peaks.
Preferred• Experience with a major ag OEM line (e.g., Case IH, John Deere, AGCO, New Holland, Kubota, or comparable).
• Established relationships with farm operators in Central Indiana.
• Familiarity with precision ag technology, guidance systems, and telematics.
• Experience using CRM and dealer business systems.
• Bachelor's degree in agribusiness, agricultural economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
