Full Job Description

PPG Aerospace is looking for a dedicated and experienced Maintenance Engineer II to join our team on-site in Mojave, CA. You will offer an exciting opportunity to specialize in Mechanical Engineering, handling both standard and complex assignments that are important to larger projects.


As the Maintenance Engineer II, you will report directly to our Engineering & Maintenance Manager, ensuring the highest standards of equipment reliability and performance. Join us in advancing aerospace technology through your expertise and commitment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering and technical support for the maintenance team
  • Partner with Maintenance, Engineering, and Production to improve equipment reliability, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
  • Manage and continuously improve preventive maintenance programs, including PM schedules, procedures, work instructions, and maintenance strategies to minimize unplanned downtime
  • Develop and present data, recommendations, and improvement plans
  • Develop preventive maintenance schedules and programs to minimize unplanned downtime and reduce maintenance costs
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to equipment reliability, uptime, and maintenance effectiveness
  • Ensure all projects meet engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices for risk assessment, safety, and quality
  • Champion safety culture, housekeeping, and adherence to all plant procedures

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent technical discipline
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • 5+ years of engineering, maintenance, or project management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in using maintenance management software, data analysis tools, and predictive maintenance technologies
  • Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams

Pay Transparency:

The base salary range for this position is $90,000 to $110,000, with a possibility of an annual bonus up to 7% of base salary. PPG offers comprehensive benefits such as Health, Dental, Life, Retirement Plan, Paid Vacation & Holidays, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Disability/Leave, and other Voluntary benefit offerings.
