MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented
Aegis Operating Environment Engineer to join our team in
King George, VA. This is an
onsite position.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Assist Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) in supporting the digital and networking aspects of the Aegis system, ensuring the "detect-to-engage" process is executed seamlessly and rapidly to protect the ship and its battle group
- Provide onboard and remote technical support to ship's force across critical combat systems infrastructure
- Perform computer and network maintenance on servers, routers, data buses (including fiber optics), and digital interfaces to maintain seamless communication across combat system components
- Execute system diagnostics and troubleshooting using built-in and external test equipment to isolate and resolve hardware and software malfunctions within integrated systems
- Manage software and data by loading, initializing, and executing diagnostic programs to keep combat system software current and operational
- Maintain and support display consoles and human-machine interfaces used by operators in the ship's Combat Information Center (CIC) to monitor and control the Aegis system
- Extend technical expertise to support other interconnected shipboard combat systems integrated with the primary Aegis network
- Willingness to travel up to 25%
Minimum Qualifications:- 8+ years' experience in engineering, design, development, testing, maintenance (fleet support), build, install, documentation, or configuration management of a combat system
- 6+ years technical experience in the Operational Environment (OE)
Preferred Qualifications:- Self-motivated and capable of working independently without direct supervision
- Prior US Navy experience as an Aegis Computer Network Technician
- Strong knowledge of the Aegis Weapon System, including the basic operation of all stations and consoles
Clearance Requirements:- Must have a current or active Secret Clearance
Physical Requirements:- Ability to remain stationary for 50% of the time.
- Frequent movement in a shipboard or test lab environment for communication and accessing resources for testing a troubleshooting.
The projected compensation range for this position is $70,200.00-$117,000.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
