Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Systems Engineer to join our team! In this role you will be part of a talented and mission oriented professional team of federal engineers, active-duty Naval Officers and Contract staff who are willing to roll up their sleeves and get missile defense capability out to the Fleet.  You will also be part of a team of some of the best and brightest Engineers and scientists our country has to offer. 

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Systems Engineering: Actively participate in Integration Exchanges to resolve design and interface challenges for interdependent capabilities.

  • Weapon System Development: Provide technical expertise for the development and upgrading of interceptors, radar systems, and launcher systems.

  • System of Systems Integration: Support the integration of various components into a cohesive and effective system-of-systems.

  • Risk Management: Identify, analyze, and mitigate program risks in collaboration with the program office and other stakeholders.

  • Schedule Development: Assist in the development and maintenance of an integrated master schedule.

  • Test and Evaluation: Support all phases of testing, from planning and preparation to execution and analysis.

  • Program Office Support: Directly support the Aegis-Based Defense (ABMD) Software Development Program Manager Engineer, In-service Readiness Officer Engineer, and all ABMD Baseline Managers.

  • Requirements Management: Perform deep analysis to document and justify requirements for Aegis Sea-Based and Aegis Shore Facility Weapon Systems, ensuring a clear and traceable rationale for all subsystem functions.

  • Process and Artifact Authority: Implement assessment processes and approve key configuration-managed artifacts, including the Requirements Management Plan, Systems Engineering Plan, and assessments of lower-level specification traces (A-level to Element-specifications and Contract Deliverables).

  • Technical Issue Resolution: Drive the resolution of technical uncertainties by tracking and resolving Test Observation Reports (TORs), Proposed Revisions (PRs), and Software Change Reports (SWCRs). Manage system deviations through Request for Deviation or Waiver (RDW), Ballistic Missile Defense System Deficiency Reports (BDRs), and participation in the Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS).

  • Tool & Documentation Proficiency: Leverage extensive documentation and digital tools, including monthly DOORS / Digital Model Reviews, Fleet Support Operation Center (FSOC), and Confluence.

  • Reporting and Communication: Produce and review various meeting minutes, briefs, Element Unique Memos, Element Unique Requirements Attachments, a Threat Prioritization List, and Executive Summaries to ensure clear communication and program alignment.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • US Citizenship with Active Secret Clearance

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or an equivalent technical/scientific discipline specifically related to area of specialty and 10+ years of related professional experience

  • Advanced degree may be preferred at this level

  • Mastery of MS Office suite and familiarity with collaborative tools such as Jira, Confluence or Teams

  • Aegis Weapon System Experience


What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Master's Degree in STEM and 12+ years of experience

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance

  • Prior experience with Aegis Weapons Systems Baselines

  • Experience with Missile Systems Engineering

  • Technical experience in one of the following areas: Fleet operations, systems engineering, missile systems, Aegis Qualifications, etc. 

Security Clearance Requirement:

An active Secret security clearance is required for this position.​

This position is part of our Federal Solutions team.

Salary Range: $134,100.00 - $241,400.00
