SMMA has an exciting opportunity for a 7+ year architect to join our firm working within our Advanced Technology market on the planning, design, and delivery of complex advanced technology facilities, including data centers, advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, research, and mission-critical environments.
This individual will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, clients, consultants, and contractors to develop innovative, high-performance solutions that balance technical requirements, operational needs, sustainability goals, and design excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the design and technical development for advanced technology projects from programming through construction administration.
- Work closely with internal and external teams, including engineering disciplines, sustainability experts, and technical consultants, to coordinate integrated solutions.
- Develop architectural details, focusing on integration and coordination of systems, structural integrity, safety, flexibility, and durability.
- Develop and oversee complex building systems integration, planning, and architectural detailing.
- Prepare specifications for market-specific architectural products (i.e. cleanroom wall systems, hot/cold aisle containment systems, etc.)
- Lead the preparation and quality review of construction documents, specifications, and technical studies.
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, industry standards, and client-specific requirements.
- Coordinate architectural solutions with structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, process, fire protection and specialty engineering disciplines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
- 7+ years of architectural experience, with at least 2 years focused on Advanced Technology or high-performance building projects.
- Registered Architect preferred or actively pursuing licensure.
- Proficiency in Revit, Teams, Bluebeam, and applications related to the CA phase. Training is available from our internal Design Technology group.
- Understanding of building systems, equipment
requirements, and regulatory constraints associated with highly technical environments. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The approximate pay range for this position is $85,000 - $130,000.
Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the individual's qualifications.
