Job Summary

The Advanced Software Engineer will be responsible for developing and enhancing terminal interfaces used by players and retailers to purchase, manage, and validate lottery products. This role requires strong hands-on experience in Java and Angular development, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams while working within an established architecture and development framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain terminal-based applications and user interfaces using Java and Angular.
• Collaborate with a distributed team of engineers in a highly team-oriented development environment.
• Participate in code reviews and adhere to coding standards, quality guidelines, and development best practices.
• Work within established architectural patterns and design frameworks, quickly adopting team conventions and development practices.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of lottery retail and player-facing solutions.
• Utilize modern development tools and practices to deliver high-quality, scalable software.

Required Skills/Qualifications

• Java and Angular (updated versions)
• Work in a distributed group of engineers and a mandatory process that includes linters and code reviews

• Team development skills, able to adapt to design decisions by the architects

Desired Skills/Qualifications

• Experience with Protocol Buffers (Protobuf) and other data serialization mechanisms
• Experience with Jakarta EE, particularly CDI/Weld
• Experience with asynchronous programming, including: Java CompletableFuture TypeScript/RxJS Observables
• Experience developing software for POS (Point of Sale) terminals or other retail transaction systems
• Experience working on distributed development teams
