Full Job Description

The National Systems Group serves as the technical advisor to the Intelligence Community and its mission partners involved in the collection and distribution of national and tactical intelligence, including electronics programs, advanced technologies, ground and communications, imagery programs, and systems engineering and launch.

The Advanced Research and Engineering (AR&E) Sub-Division is seeking an innovative and proactive Advanced Research Studies Lead (Senior Project Engineer 6 Multi-Disciplinary Engineering) to tackle some of the nation's most critical and complex challenges in Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) and R&D ground architectures. The mission of AR&E is to research, develop, and demonstrate next-generation space technologies, and advise on cutting-edge autonomy and machine learning. AR&E leverages expertise and laboratory capabilities from across Aerospace to support cutting-edge R&D for a large intelligence agency.

This is a full-time position based in Chantilly, which requires 100% onsite work.

What You 6ll Be Doing

  • Coordinating diverse studies ranging across phenomenologies and technologies, breaking down complex questions into manageable components to deliver data-driven results to the nation 6s hardest problems.
  • Engaging Aerospace 6s premier analysis, simulation, and laboratory resources across the Engineering and Technology Group (ETG) matrix and consolidating assessments from Subject Matter Experts within these organizations into cohesive, impactful, and actionable findings for the customer.
  • Interacting frequently with government, SETA, and contractor personnel as part of a small team in a fast-paced environment.

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements for Senior Project Engineer- Multi-Disciplinary Engineering:

  • Bachelor 6s degree in science, engineering, mathematics, or a related technical field.
  • 10 years of relevant experience in space systems.
  • Experience in technical project management, scoping projects and leveraging inter-disciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated expertise in cutting-edge technology applicable to remote sensing, communications, or computation as applied to space systems.
  • Experience in Geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) OR signals intelligence (SIGINT) technologies.
  • Ability to be proactive, think strategically, and anticipate needs.
  • Willing to travel domestically up to approximately 10% of time.
  • This position requires a current and active TS/SCI security clearance and polygraph, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
