Responsibilities
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supervises the operations, and coordination and integration of services, programs, and activities of assigned Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
• Serves as the primary representative for APP peers in the designated clinical program(s) in providing input to clinical program managers/directors, and Queens University Medical Group (QUMG) leadership in clinical, operational, and professional matters of significance.
• Fosters communication and teamwork between APP's, their physician peers, various departments/programs, medical specialties, and individuals to provide high quality care to all the patients they serve.
• Works closely with the Director, Medical Director of designated clinical program(s), and QUMG leadership team to appropriately represent the APP team in a unified and concerted manner regarding their part in accomplishing QMC's mission and goals.
• Carries a caseload of patients specific to the discipline. Credentialing and privileging is required.
• Ensures operations and functions are in compliance with regulatory requirements and the policies and procedures of The Queen's Health System and it's affiliates.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking.
• Continuous: sitting, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods.
• Frequent: walking.
• Occasional: standing, stooping/bending, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, lifting and carrying usual weight of 1 pound up to 5 pounds, reaching above, at and below shoulder level, frequent gripping of an object.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
• Current Hawaii State license as an APRN or Physician Assistant.
• Doctorate in area of practice preferred.
• If licensed as an APRN, specialty board certification aligned with area of assignment is required.
• Depending on area of assignment, prescriptive authority for non-controlled and controlled substances may be required.
• Depending on area of assignment, additional certification(s) may be required.
• Credentialing and privileging required if providing direct patient care.
• Current BLS certification.
B. EXPERIENCE:
• Three (3) years experience practicing in area of specialty.
• One (1) year supervisory/leadership experience.
• Prior experience in education, research and publication preferred.
