Job Description - Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) - Hospitalist Medicine

Independent Hospitalist Physicians (IHP) has an immediate opening for a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Hospitalist Medicine team at Ascension Providence Hospital Southfield and Novi campuses.

Position Type:
  • Full Time (1,840 hours/year)
  • Night Shift (10-12 hours)

Pay:
  • $93,012 starting annual salary
  • Guaranteed increases with years of service
  • Additional $8.00/hr night shift differential

Position Summary:
  • As part of our Hospital Medicine team, our Physician Assistants (PA's) and Nurse Practitioners (NP's) work with a group of providers who are committed to providing excellent hospital patient care and experiences.
  • Responsible for delivery of patient care through the process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
  • Provides primary health care to hospital inpatients and observation patients in conjunction with collaborating physicians.
  • Directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining standards of professionalism.
  • Additional duties may include policy and procedure development and participation in program evaluation activities.


Direct Care responsibilities include:
  • Performing pertinent physical examinations and clinical evaluations;
  • Managing clinical care;
  • Performing procedures;
  • Ordering and reviewing diagnostic studies;
  • Ordering and monitoring medications;
  • Participating in short-term and long-term planning of patient care with members of the inter-professional team
  • Code Blue Rapid Response Cross Coverage
  • Coordinating the transition of outpatient care.
