Job Description - Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) - Hospitalist Medicine Independent Hospitalist Physicians (IHP) has an immediate opening for a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Hospitalist Medicine team at Ascension Providence Hospital Southfield and Novi campuses.
Position Type:
- Full Time (1,840 hours/year)
- Night Shift (10-12 hours)
Pay:
- $93,012 starting annual salary
- Guaranteed increases with years of service
- Additional $8.00/hr night shift differential
Position Summary:- As part of our Hospital Medicine team, our Physician Assistants (PA's) and Nurse Practitioners (NP's) work with a group of providers who are committed to providing excellent hospital patient care and experiences.
- Responsible for delivery of patient care through the process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
- Provides primary health care to hospital inpatients and observation patients in conjunction with collaborating physicians.
- Directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining standards of professionalism.
- Additional duties may include policy and procedure development and participation in program evaluation activities.
Direct Care responsibilities include:- Performing pertinent physical examinations and clinical evaluations;
- Managing clinical care;
- Performing procedures;
- Ordering and reviewing diagnostic studies;
- Ordering and monitoring medications;
- Participating in short-term and long-term planning of patient care with members of the inter-professional team
- Code Blue Rapid Response Cross Coverage
- Coordinating the transition of outpatient care.

Requirements
Qualifications:- Current State License
- Current DEA
Experience and Skills:- Prior professional experience in an acute setting is preferred.
- Self-directed, self-motivated, and works independently.
- Demonstrates communication skills, leadership ability, organization and time management skills.
- Ability to aid in coordination of admissions and discharge planning.
