Riverside Medical Group is currently seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider to join our established ENT (Otolaryngology) practice at Riverside ENT Physicians & Surgeons in Newport News, Virginia.

Position Overview
The Advanced Practice Provider will work closely with our Otolaryngology physicians to provide comprehensive care for patients with disorders of the ears, nose, throat, head, and neck. The APP will evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, provide follow-up care, assist with surgical patient management, and serve as an integral member of the multidisciplinary care team.
The ideal candidate is patient-focused, enjoys building long-term patient relationships, and is comfortable managing a wide variety of ENT conditions in both clinic and hospital settings.
Responsibilities Including, But Not Limited To
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including patient history and physical examinations.
- Evaluate and manage patients with acute and chronic ENT conditions.
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies.
- Review laboratory results, pathology reports, audiology evaluations, and imaging studies.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans in collaboration with Otolaryngologists.
- Assist in preoperative and postoperative care of patients undergoing ENT procedures and surgeries.
- Perform office-based procedures within scope of practice and privileging requirements.
- Provide patient education regarding ENT health, disease prevention, treatment options, surgical preparation, and recovery expectations.
- Prescribe medications and treatments according to protocols and within scope of practice.
- Coordinate care with primary care providers, specialists, speech therapists, audiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Respond to patient questions, review test results, and manage follow-up care needs.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records, ensuring all documentation meets regulatory standards.
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
- Support efficient clinic operations while maintaining a high standard of patient-centered care.

- Chronic and recurrent sinus disease
- Allergic rhinitis
- Ear infections and hearing disorders
- Tinnitus and dizziness/vertigo
- Nasal obstruction and breathing disorders
- Tonsillar and throat disorders
- Hoarseness and voice disorders
- Dysphagia (swallowing disorders)
- Head and neck masses
- Sleep apnea and sleep-related breathing disorders
- Post-surgical ENT follow-up care
Required Qualifications:
Nurse Practitioner Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Current or eligible Virginia Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license
- National board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP)
Physician Assistant Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current or eligible Virginia Physician Assistant license
- National certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Licensure & Regulatory Requirements
- Eligible for Virginia licensure at time of hire
- DEA registration (or ability to obtain prior to start date)
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred based on practice setting
Preferred Experience
- Prior Otolaryngology (ENT) experience preferred but not required
- Previous experience in primary care, urgent care, family medicine, internal medicine, surgery, or specialty practice settings is beneficial
- Experience managing patients independently in an ambulatory clinic environment preferred
