Role(AMI) Enterprise Architect We are seeking an experienced
Enterprise Architect specializing in Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) to lead our utilities transformation journey. This individual will drive the architecture, strategy, and roadmap for our AMI ecosystem-enabling secure, scalable, and intelligent metering and data management platforms. As a senior technology leader, you will work cross-functionally to align business goals with technical solutions, shaping the future of our smart grid and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities• Key contributor supporting the end-to-end enterprise architecture for AMI, including smart meters, head-end systems, MDMS, data integration, OT, and analytics platforms.
• Interacts effectively with customer stakeholders to identify and gather solution requirements in addition to capturing system requirements for; AMI IT/OT systems, cybersecurity, CIS, MDMS, Customer Portal, and other 3rd party systems.
• Solution Design: Provide architectural governance and guidance on system integration, data flow, security, and interoperability across the AMI ecosystem.
• Vendor & Technology: Understands AMI vendors, platforms, and solutions-including communications networks (RF Mesh, LTE, PLC), edge computing, and cloud/on-premise integrations.
• Familiarity with utility regulatory standards (e.g., NERC CIP, ISO, IEC), data privacy laws, and security best practices.
Skills Required• 5+ years in enterprise or solution architecture with a focus on utilities, AMI or smart grid systems.
• Deep experience with AMI platforms (e.g., Itron, Landis+Gyr, Sensus, Trilliant) and Meter Data Management Systems (e.g., Oracle Utilities, Siemens EnergyIP, Honeywell).
• Proven expertise in integrating AMI with utility systems such as OMS, CIS, SCADA, DMS, MDMS, and GIS.
• Solid understanding of data governance, cybersecurity, and network infrastructure in the context of utility operations.
• Strong internal and external communication and collaboration skills in a collaborative team environment.
• Experience in AMI deployments for electric, gas, or water utilities in North America.
Preferred Experience:• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, and GCS) and data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks)
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as OEB, FERC, NERC CIP. and Canadian Privacy Standards
• Passion for sustainability, innovation, and digital grid transformation.
• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline
The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is: CAD 85,000 - CAD 180,000

In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
