Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:
As a mechanical engineer for SLCM-N, you’ll be a member of a cross functional team dedicated to the development of military-grade electronics for the Sea-Launched Cruise Missile–Nuclear (SLCM-N) Navy program.

- Design and analyze components and electro-mechanical assemblies
- Create and maintain mechanical solid models and drawings
- Create and manage bills of material (BOM) within data management system
- Generate design and interface documentation
- Develop technical presentations, recommendations, and written communications to explain technical issues to program management and the Navy customer
- Participate in various technical and program meetings on a weekly basis
What sets you apart:
- Strong proficiency with CREO modeling CAD tools to create mechanical models and drawings
- Extensive knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods, as well as technical, government, and industry standards
- Electrical Hardware design experience a plus
- Schematic generation a plus
- Cable and harness design preferred
- Experience with ruggedized electronics packaging for shipboard applications a plus
- Experience with GD&T (ASME Y14.5) a plus
- Collaborative, creative thinker with experience leading complex projects
- Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation
- Strong communication skills with ability to write technical papers and proposals
