DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Provide comprehensive bilingual editorial support in Brazilian Portuguese for a wide range of game-related content, including in-game text, dialogue and voice scripts, user manuals, packaging, and other supporting materials.
Review and edit narrative and technical content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency, making informed recommendations regarding grammar, spelling, style, tone, voice, and overall content quality.
Conduct research on franchise history and related subject matter to verify accuracy and maintain continuity across titles.
Develop, implement, and maintain editorial resources such as style guides, character sheets, terminology databases, and other documentation to support consistent localization and content standards.
Edit and adapt consumer-facing materials, including manuals, packaging, websites, and social media content, to ensure alignment with brand voice and audience expectations across regions and platforms.
Collaborate with translators, proofreaders, copy editors, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure cohesive and high-quality content delivery.
Contribute to continuous improvement of editorial workflows by identifying process efficiencies, sharing best practices, and leveraging internal resources and tools to enhance productivity and consistency across projects.
Telecommuting permitted up to 40%; employee must reside within normal commuting distance of company's office in Redmond, Washington.

SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS
Requires Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Communications, Linguistics, Journalism, or a related field, and 2 years of experience in editing and localization, including:
Providing bilingual editorial support in Brazilian Portuguese across a variety of content types, including digital, print, and multimedia materials, with strong proficiency in grammar, spelling, style, and tone in both English and Brazilian Portuguese;
Editing and refining narrative and technical content with the ability to ensure consistency, clarity, and alignment with established voice and brand guidelines;
Collaborating in cross-functional editorial or content teams, including coordinating with translators, writers, editors, and reviewers to improve workflows, maintain quality standards, and deliver polished, consumer-facing content;
Conducting localization efforts, including editing and reviewing Brazilian Portuguese localized content and occasionally translating and adapting English content into Brazilian Portuguese, while ensuring cultural accuracy, linguistic quality, and consistency with established terminology and style guidelines; and
Demonstrating strong awareness and understanding of Brazilian Portuguese localization issues and Brazilian market preferences.
Position requires fluency in Brazilian Portuguese and English.
