We are hiring a
Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to support next-generation
Nuclear Command, Control and Communications (NC3) strategic weapon systems using advanced
Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and
Digital Engineering practices. This role requires expertise with
SysML, Cameo Systems Modeler, DOORS/DOORS Next Generation, DoDAF, systems engineering, requirements management, and Agile development in a highly secure Department of Defense environment.
Responsibilities:- Develop, maintain, and manage Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) artifacts supporting advanced NC3 strategic weapon system development.
- Create and maintain SysML models, including behavioral, structural, requirements, and interface diagrams using Cameo Systems Modeler.
- Design and architect complex system solutions through functional decomposition, interface definition, requirements allocation, and trade study analysis.
- Apply Digital Engineering methodologies to improve system design, traceability, verification, and lifecycle management.
- Develop and maintain requirements traceability using DOORS or DOORS Next Generation integrated with MBSE models.
- Support systems engineering, integration, verification, validation, and test engineering activities throughout the system lifecycle.
- Develop system architectures using DoDAF or comparable architecture frameworks to support Digital Engineering initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams in an Agile development environment to deliver complex defense capabilities.
- Leverage MBSE models to communicate system architecture, design intent, interfaces, and technical solutions to stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes through MBSE best practices and AI-enabled Digital Engineering capabilities.
Qualifications:- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
- Active Department of Defense Top Secret Security Clearance required at the time of hire.
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics discipline with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Hands-on experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies.
- Experience using Cameo Systems Modeler or equivalent MBSE modeling tools.
- Proficiency developing and maintaining SysML behavioral, structural, interface, and requirements models.
- Experience applying MBSE to complex system architecture, functional decomposition, interface definition, and trade studies.
- Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, technical standards, and systems lifecycle processes.
- Experience with requirements management tools including IBM DOORS or DOORS Next Generation (DNG).
- Experience implementing Digital Engineering practices within DoDAF or comparable architecture frameworks.
- Experience supporting Systems Engineering, Requirements Engineering, Integration, Verification, Validation, or Test Engineering activities.
- Experience working within Agile development environments.
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience supporting Nuclear Command, Control and Communications (NC3) programs or other strategic defense systems.
- Experience integrating MBSE models with Digital Engineering toolchains.
- Experience applying AI-enabled technologies to improve MBSE workflows and systems engineering processes.
