OverviewThe Adult Living Donor Coordinator performs all activities related to the assigned Transplant Program, maintaining the resources needed for success. The coordinator provides direct patient and family care across the continuum from pre-donation, during donation and post-donation, in both ambulatory and inpatient settings. The coordinator provides education to patients/families, hospital staff, and the community utilizing Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN) and United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) resources. The coordinator adheres to clinical practice guidelines, integrates applicable regulatory and practice standards, and participates in quality improvement and research activities.
Responsibilities- Provides direct patient care across the continuum from pre-donation, donation, and post donation periods.
- Provides education to patients/families, hospital staff, and the community.
- Integrates CMS, OPTN, UNOS and individual Transplant Program standards in practice guidelines and participates in ongoing quality improvement and research activities.
Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree BSN and 3-5 years experience Pediatric or Adult clinical experience, experience as a transplant coordinator strongly preferred
- Other Specialty Certification relevant to unit's patient population (determined by Nurse Manager) within 24 months of hire (required)
- One of the following: Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas, RN Compact license for all states besides KS and MO required upon hire
- One of the following: Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri, RN Compact license for all states besides KS and MO required upon hire
- Employees must obtain Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator or equivalent within 1095 days
- Refer to Nursing and Advance Practice Provider Licensure and Certification policy for required Life Support Certifications Required Upon Hire

Starting PayOur pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $41.55/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.
Remote Work/Work from HomeThis position is not eligible to work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children's Mercy locations and may not work from home.
