Overview

The Joint, Office of the Secretary of War, Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of War, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues.

The Acquisition and Technology Analysis Group within JOID specializes in the application of multi-disciplinary analytic skills to support multiple clients within the Department of War (DoW). These clients include the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering (OUSW(R&E)), Office of the Under Secretary of War for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSW(A&S)), Office of the Under Secretary of War for Personnel and Readiness (OUSW(P&R)) and the Joint Staff. SPA provides critical decision support to enabling and executing a strategy of technological superiority and enabling the delivery and sustainment of secure, resilient, and preeminent capabilities to the warfighter quickly and cost effectively. Our team of experienced military, technical, and operations research analysts is skilled in evaluating military problems, identifying the driving factors, devising innovative approaches, collecting applicable data, developing necessary software tools, and performing thorough and timely assessments to inform technology and acquisition governance decisions to ensure U.S. military forces retain military superiority in the future.

We have an upcoming need for an Acquisition Analyst to provide onsite support in Arlington, VA.

Responsibilities

The Acquisition Analyst will support Department of War (DoW) Acquisition Transformation efforts. Will serve as a core team member supporting the OASW(A) Acquisition Transformation Senior Advisory Group (SAG), working with internal and external experts to translate senior-level guidance into actionable, implementation-ready recommendations for OASW(A) and DoW leadership. Will track implementation progress to enable rapid senior leader decision making and accelerate execution; manage workflows and dependencies across all 38 Secretary-directed transformation tasks; drive a culture of accountability across the DoW and the Services by following actions from inception through completion; and ensure strategic alignment among all stakeholders. Apply extensive experience with the DoW acquisition process, a comprehensive understanding of DoW program management and how programs progress through the acquisition lifecycle, and demonstrated ability to work closely and confidently with senior DoW leadership at the ASW and USW levels.

Qualifications

Required:
  • 10+ years of experience
  • 5+ years of experience with the Defense Acquisition System
  • Understanding of DoDI 5000.02 and the DoW acquisition process
  • Master's degree

  • Willingness for occasional travel (may be required (less than 10%))
  • DAWIA or DAU PM certification
  • Able to work fully onsite based on client needs

Desired:
  • Experience developing or updating acquisition policy directives and instructions
  • Experience as a DoW Program Manager/Deputy Program Manager
  • Project Management Professional Certification or DAWIA Level II or III in Program Management
