Full Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead key accounting operations and help ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting. This role will oversee general accounting activities, lead month-end and year-end close processes, support financial reporting, and help ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies.

What You'll Do
  • Manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, payroll, and account reconciliations.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, company accounting policies, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Analyze financial results and investigate variances, providing meaningful insights and recommendations to management.
  • Assist with the preparation of internal and external financial reports.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting team members through coaching, feedback, and performance management.
  • Allocate resources and manage workloads to meet deadlines and departmental objectives.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting processes.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audit activities.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and increase accuracy through automation and technology.
  • Support ERP system implementations, upgrades, and other accounting technology initiatives.
  • Partner with Finance, Operations, Tax, Treasury, HR, and other business functions to improve reporting and decision-making.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, acquisitions, integrations, and other special projects.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Participate in initiatives that support business growth and operational excellence.

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience with month-end and year-end close, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with ERP or financial systems.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of integrity and accountability.
  • Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and motivate an accounting team.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to partner effectively across departments.

Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA designation preferred.
  • Experience in distribution, manufacturing, energy, lubricant, fuel, or industrial industries.
  • Experience supporting multi-location or multi-entity organizations.
  • Experience with ERP platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, or similar systems.
  • Experience leading process improvement, automation, or accounting transformation initiatives.
