What You'll Do

You will oversee and support safety and compliance programs across multiple locations and operating environments, including hauling facilities, equipment yards, maintenance facilities, landfills, recycling centers, transfer stations, residential and commercial collection operations, and Balers & Compactors operations.

• Guide and educate supervisors and managers on what to do when an employee is injured, including when and how to report the event, what information must be collected, appropriate incident documentation, and when additional escalation is required.
• Work directly with managers following an injury to gather facts, review circumstances surrounding the event, identify potential contributing factors, and help ensure appropriate follow-up actions are completed.
• Coordinate with Human Resources and other appropriate partners regarding medical treatment, work status, restrictions, transitional or modified-duty considerations, claim developments, and return-to-work issues, while maintaining appropriate roles and confidentiality.
• Analyze workers' compensation claims, employee injuries, accident data, risk/loss information, and recurring trends to identify areas of concern and opportunities to reduce injuries and claim exposure.
• Develop, recommend, and monitor corrective-action and risk-mitigation strategies designed to address root causes, improve operational practices, strengthen accountability, and prevent similar injuries from occurring again.
• Train and coach supervisors and managers to understand their responsibilities in the workers' compensation and injury-reporting process and are prepared to respond appropriately when an incident occurs.
