Position SummaryThe Accounting Manager oversees the daily accounting and financial operations of the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, effective internal controls, and efficient business processes. This position provides financial analysis, budgeting support, and strategic recommendations to management while supervising accounting staff and fostering continuous process improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, financial reporting, payroll, fixed assets, and budgeting activities.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Analyze financial results and provide recommendations to improve profitability, efficiency, and financial performance.
- Develop, monitor, and administer company budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Provide leadership with timely and accurate financial information to support business decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and government reporting requirements.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and serve as the primary point of contact for auditors.
- Manage banking relationships and other financial institution partnerships.
- Oversee fixed asset accounting, including depreciation schedules.
- Evaluate and strengthen internal controls, financial systems, and risk management practices.
- Monitor insurance coverage and assist in assessing potential financial liabilities and business risks.
- Establish and maintain appropriate access controls for accounting systems and financial software.

- Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities- Directly supervise Accounting Department employees.
- Recruit, train, develop, and evaluate staff.
- Assign and prioritize workloads to ensure accurate and timely completion of department objectives.
- Provide coaching, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.
- Address employee concerns and resolve workplace issues in accordance with company policies.
QualificationsEducation and Experience- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or management responsibilities.
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls.
- Ability to analyze complex financial data and make sound business recommendations.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in accounting, ERP, payroll, spreadsheet, and financial reporting systems.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements- Primarily office-based work environment.
- Ability to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods.
- Occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds.
Work Environment- Professional office environment with a generally quiet noise level.
