About the Role

McKesson is seeking an Accountant to join our Technology Solutions Finance team. This role plays a key part in accounting operations, financial reporting, month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial analysis. The successful candidate will partner with cross-functional teams to support business performance, ensure accurate financial reporting, and identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.

This position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment, leveraging technology, and driving operational excellence.

What You'll Do
  • Perform month-end and quarter-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, identify variances, and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Review financial transactions to ensure accurate accounting treatment and general ledger coding.
  • Investigate and resolve accounting, billing, and reporting issues.
  • Partner with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Procurement, Billing, Operations, and other business teams to support financial processes.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance financial reports, dashboards, KPIs, and performance metrics.
  • Support system implementations, finance transformation initiatives, and process improvement projects.
  • Assist with audit activities, compliance requirements, and internal control documentation.
  • Utilize SAP, Ariba, and other financial systems to support accounting operations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation, reporting enhancements, and AI-enabled tools.
  • Provide support, guidance, and knowledge sharing across finance and business teams.


Basic Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • CPA designation or actively pursuing CPA certification.
  • Typically requires 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and account reconciliation processes.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.
  • Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP or Epicor.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.


Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Experience supporting technology, corporate finance, shared services, or large-scale business operations.
  • Experience with Power BI, financial reporting tools, and dashboard development.
  • Experience supporting process automation or finance transformation initiatives.
  • Knowledge of AI-enabled tools and digital solutions that improve productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders in a complex business environment.
