Full Job Description

General Summary

This position provides advanced professional accounting support to the General Accounting department related to the maintenance, processing and analysis of accounting records in a manner consistent with company policies and procedures.

Essential Job Accountabilities

  • Establish, interpret, and analyze complex accounting records to support strategic decision making and ensure compliance with GAAP

  • Prepare, review, and post journal entries to support the monthly close process

  • Review of financial reports to ensure the accuracy and clarity of information presented

  • Prepare selected balance sheet reconciliations, and analysis, to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP

  • Participate in monthly review of financial package to ensure the accuracy of financial information and to assist in strategic decision making

  • Respond to inquiries from Management/Executives, related to monthly financial package, to ensure clear communication and high level of customer service  

  • Assist Manager with research related inquiries to support strategic decision making

  • Perform special projects and additional assignments, as assigned, to support the department

  • Participate in cross training efforts that support personal development and provide departmental coverage


Education

  • Bachelors Degree, preferably in Accounting, required

  • CPA designation a plus

Work Experience

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience 

  • Large enterprise system experience (JD Edwards/Oracle e1 experience a plus).


Knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Advanced technical knowledge of US GAAP

  • Excellent MS Office Suite skills and advanced computer spreadsheet skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to provide creative solutions to real-time challenges

  • Attention to detail, quick learner and internally motivated to seek out answers, generate ideas, and develop new skills.

  • Ability to work in high production environment and respond quickly and effectively under pressure, changing priorities and tight timelines/deadlines

  • Strong written and oral communication skills to effectively disseminate information

  • Team player who can operate effectively within a matrix management environment

Base Salary Range: 

$83,971.00 - $125,957.00

Pay may vary based upon relevant experience, skills, location, and education among other factors.  ​
