Position Overview: The Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records and supporting all aspects of the month-end close process. This role delivers clear, insightful analyses of financial performance to management and helps drive operational excellence by identifying opportunities to enhance processes and strengthen financial systems.

Your Day to Day as an Accountant: - Maintain accurate financial records and ensure all transactions are properly recorded.
- Prepare and review journal entries to support the month-end close process.
- Complete monthly and quarterly account reconciliations.
- Analyze capital spending and perform ROI evaluations.
- Produce timely financial reports, ad-hoc analyses, and actionable insights for management.
- Uphold data integrity through thorough reconciliations and review procedures.
- Ensure compliance with SOX controls and support internal and external audit requests.
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements.
- Assist with quarterly forecasting activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across multiple financial systems.
Required Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 3 years of experience in a finance or accounting role.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel.
- Strong organizational & analytical skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive information.
- Ability to report to work onsite at BWXT's Erwin, TN office location.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:- 5-10 years' experience in accounting and finance.
- Master's degree in accounting or finance.
- CPA or CMA certification.
- Experience with multi-site accounting operations.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and their implementation.
- Experience in SAP and OneStream.

Pay: $70,000 - $103,000
The base salary range for this position in Tennessee (US-TN) at the start of employment is expected to be between $70,000 and $103,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,' unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
