LiquiBox is hiring an Account Technical Manager in Charlotte, NC who is the technical authority the commercial team runs decisions through, the person who determines whether an opportunity is technically viable before the business invests further resources in it.
You will qualify prospects, design, and run customer trials, and turn lab and plant data into recommendations customers act on. You own the technical relationship with customer CTOs, plant teams, and lab colleagues, and you are the one in the room when a quality claim needs an answer or a trial needs a decision. Commercial owns the sales side of the account. You own the technical side, and both sides move together.
The work changes shape week to week: customer plants, labs, and corporate offices, often in the same week. Travel is extensive and variable, averaging 3 to 5 days a week, with some weeks requiring no travel and others requiring travel every day. You will need to build rapport with a company CTO on one call and a production-line operator on the next visit, and be equally credible with both.
This role offers direct and frequent exposure to the LiquiBox leadership team, ownership of your own schedule and travel plan, and a career path for someone who wants to build a long-term career in account technical work rather than treat it as a stepping stone.
Responsibilities- Qualify customer opportunities technically on prospecting calls and determine whether they convert before the team commits further resources.
- Prepare for and lead customer trials end to end, including adjusting fillers to Sealed Air's bags and coordinating the people, sites, and timelines involved.
- Communicate directly with customers throughout the trial and evaluation process.
- Coordinate meetings and travel across customer and plant visits.
- Work with labs on sample-performance analysis and resolve customer quality claims with data.
- Visit customer sites for checkups, trials, and prospecting.
- Lead customer QBRs that connect technical performance to business outcomes.
- Organize and lead trials from setup through results.
Qualifications
Required:- Bachelors in engineering degree.
- 10 to 15 + years of relevant experience, as a typical target rather than a hard cutoff for the right candidate.
- Learning agility to quickly master product technical detail, including fitment and bags, without extensive hand-holding.
- Willingness to travel extensively on a schedule that changes week to week.
- Demonstrated ability to build rapport across a wide range of stakeholders, from executives to plant-floor employees.
- Customer-facing technical experience, though strong exceptions are possible for candidates who demonstrate the learning agility and rapport-building ability above.
Preferred:- Prior experience as an Account Technical Manager or in a comparable customer-facing technical role.
- Flexible packaging industry background.
- Experience with filling equipment.
- Working knowledge of flexible-packaging testing and physical-property performance measurements.
