Full Job Description
Description

About the role

This isn't a seat where you inherit a territory and run someone else's motion - you'll be one of the people helping build it. You'll own your pipeline end to end, sell into finance leaders who feel the pain we solve every single day, and have direct access to leadership and real influence internally.

You'll work closely with SDRs, Sales Engineering, Product, and leadership to understand what resonates with customers, sharpen our sales motion, and turn what works into a repeatable process.

This is a role for someone who likes being close to the customer, is comfortable with ambiguity, and is motivated by the chance to have an outsized impact on a growing company. The ceiling here is uncapped, and the people who join at this stage shape what Nominal becomes.

What you'll do

  • Own the full enterprise sales cycle - from outbound prospecting through close and expansion.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of high-value opportunities across target accounts in the US market.
  • Run thoughtful discovery and lead value-driven conversations with CFOs, Controllers, and senior finance leaders.
  • Deliver tailored product demos that connect customer pain points to business outcomes.
  • Navigate complex, multi-stakeholder deals across Finance, IT, Procurement, Security, and Legal.
  • Build deep relationships with senior stakeholders that turn into long-term partnerships and durable revenue.
  • Partner closely with SDRs, Marketing, and Product to sharpen the message and accelerate our GTM.
  • Keep forecasting and pipeline hygiene crisp in a high-visibility, high-trust environment.
  • Travel ~10-25%.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of closing experience with a strong focus on mid-market deals (must-have)
  • Native-level English (must-have), eligible working in the US.
  • A proven track record of consistently beating quota on high-ACV deals with longer cycles - think $50-150K ACV and 60-70 day sales cycles
  • Experience selling into finance, accounting, ERP, or adjacent systems (strongly preferred)
  • Strong executive presence - you can hold your own with CFOs and senior finance leaders
  • Highly consultative, with sharp discovery, deal strategy, and storytelling skills

You'll likely do well at Nominal if you:

  • Are genuinely excited about what AI is doing to finance - and want to be the one selling it
  • Bring a strong outbound mindset and move with speed and rigor
  • Sell with curiosity - you dig into the customer's world, understand the problem deeply, and know how to bring the right stakeholders along
  • Are curious enough to understand a complex product and the problems behind it
  • Thrive in ambiguity and default to ownership
  • Take responsibility for outcomes and move quickly when things need to get done
  • Enjoy working closely with Product, Engineering, and leadership rather than staying in a sales silo

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA certification
  • Accounting or audit background
  • Masters degree

Benefits

  • A clear path to promotion for leadership and individual contributor roles.
  • A hybrid/remote working environment.
  • Opportunities to attend conferences, take courses, and participate in other enriching activities for personal and professional growth.
  • WFH stipend
