Full Job Description
You'll own the full sales cycle for ElectronX's key hedger accounts across the Houston and Austin energy ecosystem: identifying them, winning the first trade, and growing each into a deep, recurring book. The work is relationship-driven and in person: weekly contact, dinners, industry events, and live demos. Why this role?
You own your portfolio. You run it with real autonomy and answer for the results, with little structure above you and not much red tape to fight. We move fast, and you help shape how power gets traded next: hourly, through an API, sold to firms that still trade it the old way. It's a hard sell. If you like a hard sell, this is one of the biggest there is. What will you be doing?
OWN AND GROW YOUR PORTFOLIO
Own your portfolio end to end - find, engage, and activate the accounts in it
Take accounts from first trade to meaningful, recurring volume, growing the depth of each book over time - that depth, not the first trade, is where the value sits
Own the revenue your portfolio generates and the full sales cycle behind it
SELL THE VISION
Build the relationships that carry each account - a steady contact cadence, live demos, and the touch points that keep you close to the buyer
Listen closely on every sales call to understand each customer's end-to-end use case, then craft the pitch to that specific use case so it lands
Sell the vision of API-driven, hourly power trading and bring skeptical, old-school buyers along
PARTNER ACROSS COMMERCIAL AND PLATFORM
Run regular reviews with go-to-market and RevOps, turning what drives ADV with each customer into a repeatable, sales-science-driven motion
Use ElectronX's client visibility and observability stack to see what customers are doing and where the openings are to re-engage
Carry customer needs back to product and operations so their asks get prioritized in the wider platform roadmap
What we need from you
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Credibility and relationships in your target vertical, ideally from time selling into or working alongside the customers you'll cover
A relationship-based seller who also hunts - you open doors on reputation and referrals, then grow the depth of each book you land over time
Highly autonomous and self-directed, comfortable owning outcomes without heavy structure above you
NICE TO HAVE
Familiarity with power / electricity markets and trading workflows
Comfort selling a technical, API-driven product and an emerging way of transacting
An existing book of relationships with the accounts we're targeting
THE RIGHT MINDSET
Raw intelligence: You're incredibly smart and it shows in the work - you can go toe-to-toe with sophisticated buyers and hold your own on their turf
Customer obsession: You orient everything around the customer - their exposure, their workflow, their reasons to hesitate - and you understand their business better than they expect you to
Quick study: You get up to speed fast on the product, the industry, our customers, and our competition, and you keep learning as all four move
Ownership mentality: You take full responsibility for your work from conception to production.
Bias for action: You'd rather ship and iterate than over-engineer for hypothetical futures.
Entrepreneurial spirit: You're energized by building something new and comfortable with startup uncertainty
High agency: You identify problems and solve them without waiting for permission
Drive and intensity: You bring a high-motor, "killer" work ethic day in and day out, and a hard problem energizes you rather than wears you down
