Compensation: $120,000 - $140,000 / year

Description

About the Role:
The Account Director role is responsible for providing strategic leadership within a client service-focused environment. This individual will build and maintain strong client relationships while driving account growth, profitability, and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities include leading client accounts, making strategic and day-to-day business decisions, managing financial performance, and understanding the impact those decisions have on the overall P&L. The Account Director is a recognized leader of people with a proven track record of delivering results in a client-focused environment.

The ideal candidate is an innovative and strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a demonstrated ability to successfully grow client relationships, drive profitability, and lead high-performing teams. This role reports directly to the Vice President, Client Services.

Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management
  • Senior leadership role leading the client team and developing and sustaining client relationships with the ability to advance and elevate relationships within an account
  • Main point of contact for client stakeholders for all design, manufacturing, print, POS, and premium/incentive-related projects including preparing and leading all ongoing monthly and quarterly client performance reviews
  • Work collaboratively with senior client stakeholders to identify and communicate potential client efficiencies in terms of procurement patterns, buying cycles, product category focus and alternative manufacturing, print, POS, and premium/incentive-related items or programs in development to deliver value and enhance ROI for our clients
  • Devise and deliver all internal and external process enhancements to ensure excellent and consistent delivery of our outsourcing procurement and service model, achieving all operational KPIs and satisfying all contractual obligations
  • Align with the Key Account Management approach to track progress and measure client risk


Business Development and Business Planning
  • Participate in the formation of proposals for business expansion within existing client sites; ensure the successful introduction and implementation of new contracts or services
  • Expand understanding of client's business, their industry, and key developments
  • Participate in the strategic planning process for the region and develop effective strategic plans and annual objectives for accounts
  • Leverage cross functional people and capabilities within adm to ensure all new business opportunities; acquisition or expansion, have adm in the position to win

Operational Management
  • Ensure the continuous review and improvement of client metrics and reporting
  • Develop and maintain flexible staffing targets based on profitability
  • Manage the strategic allocation of resources
  • Foster a culture of excellence and ensure continuous improvement through the consistent employment of business best practices
  • Ensure scalable processes and systems are in place to optimize team performance

Financial Management
  • Responsible for successful P&L management, including delivering against budgets, revenue forecasting, and tracking performance KPIs
  • Accountability for the overall financial performance of the accounts against budget
  • Manage the budgeting process with the Commercial Finance Manager and Account Director
  • Ensure all direct reports are clear about financial targets and annual business goals and support their achievements
  • Ensure a structured plan for profit enhancement is in place and is monitored closely for performance

People Management and Development
  • Work closely with all levels, including senior and executive management, managers, and staff at client sites across the region
  • Manage the selection, development, retention, motivation, and performance management of direct reports
  • Ensure all Human Resources matters are managed effectively and consistently
  • Establish credibility with direct reports, communicating effectively and ensuring a two-way process for sharing information is in place
  • Manage the succession planning process for team members
  • Identify and ensure training and professional development requirements of the team are established, executed, and monitored


Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience working for a promotional products or procurement outsourcing agency, servicing CPG/retail client brand teams
  • Solid background and knowledge in POS Display production
  • Exceptional client relationship management skills - professional, honest, direct, open, and approachable; extensive experience engaging and influencing cross-functional teams
  • Proven experience driving top-line revenue growth and margin enhancement
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Team player that leads by example with prior leadership and people management experience
  • Excellent MS Office suite skills, including advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
  • Problem solver with the ability to identify and clearly present innovative solutions
  • Proven track record in managing overseas sourcing projects would be advantageous
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel when required
