2027 MBA Summer Intern 6 Account Manager, US

PIMCOs client management team is comprised of client-facing relationship management and sales professionals (Account Managers) who are directly responsible for contributing to the firms success through a combination of client relationship management and business development. Account Managers represent PIMCO to our clients and prospective clients and seek to deliver investment solutions that leverage PIMCOs position as one of the worlds premier fixed income investment managers.

Account Managers are investment professionals who have a broad range of responsibilities, including to:

  • Build and maintain relationships across client organizations
  • Educate clients about a broad set of investment strategies
  • Develop a deep understanding of clients investment objectives, risk tolerance and organizational structure, and industry trends towards presenting compelling tailored investment solutions
  • Collaborate with other PIMCO investment professionals, including Product Strategists and Portfolio Managers regarding PIMCO's product offerings and capabilities
  • Effectively communicate the benefits and features of PIMCO's investment solutions in the context of client investment objectives
  • Provide information about performance attribution, market performance and macroeconomic conditions, as well as outline the firms current economic outlook and portfolio strategy
  • Identify new business opportunities within existing clients and prospective clients; develop and execute strategies to grow PIMCOs assets under management (AUM) and improve firm profitability.

Account Managers can specialize in servicing a wide range of client types, including but not limited to, endowments, investment consultants, foundations, pension funds, broker-dealer firms, and government entities.

The Account Manager Internship offers opportunities across both our Client Management and Global Wealth Management business groups. Interns will be aligned to one of these teams and gain hands-on experience supporting client relationships and strategic initiatives within their respective group.

Every intern begins their summer with a formal week of training. The PIMCO Fundamentals training program will provide you with the skills, knowledge and relationships that will prepare you to succeed in your internship. Throughout the summer, in addition to formal senior networking initiatives and a high business impact project, your informal training will continue as you collaborate with the full PIMCO Team on client-related work. In addition, you will be teamed with a seasoned professional who offers guidance and mentorship throughout the internship.

Youre eligible to apply if you:

  • Are pursuing an MBA degree with an emphasis in Finance and Economics or a related, quantitative/analytical field from an accredited, leading business school or university, or other equivalent Advanced Degree as it relates to the position.
  • Must be able to begin full time employment from a PIMCO office between January 2028 6 August 2028
  • Must be enrolled at a university during the Fall 2027 semester (August 2027 6 December 2027)
  • Are business proficient in English

The PIMCO Internship Experience:

  • The PIMCO Internship is a 10-week program that runs from early June to mid-August, with the expectation that you will be available for the full duration of the program

What to expect during the interview process:

  • After we receive your application, we will conduct an initial review of your resume
  • If selected to move forward, youll showcase your interests and skills in first-round interviews
  • Following the first-round interviews, you will meet with us during final-round interviews conducted live via video conference. Interviews typically consist of behavioral and technical concepts.

PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.


Salary: $ 180,000.00
