Position SummaryPorter Wright Morris & Arthur LLP is seeking a
Staff Attorney to join its Workers' Compensation practice in our Cleveland office. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney interested in developing a focused practice while working alongside an experienced team representing employers in workers' compensation matters.
The Staff Attorney will support the firm's Workers' Compensation team in handling a variety of litigation matters and administrative proceedings. Responsibilities will include managing an assigned caseload; representing clients in matters before the Industrial Commission of Ohio, courts, and other applicable agencies; preparing for and attending administrative hearings and court proceedings; conducting legal research; drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents; reviewing medical records and claim files; communicating directly with clients; and assisting with all aspects of case strategy and preparation.
Qualifications:- Prior workers' compensation experience is preferred, but candidates with relevant litigation, employment, insurance defense, or administrative hearing experience are encouraged to apply
- Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines effectively
- Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to providing responsive, high-quality client service
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in Ohio and in good standing
