Full Job Description
Position Summary:

The Clearing House (TCH) is seeking an experienced Workday Application Manager to support and manage our growing Workday platform. TCH currently utilizes Workday HCM, Financials, Expenses, Advanced Compensation, and Adaptive Planning, with Procurement and Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) planned for implementation.

Our Workday environment includes numerous integrations with financial institutions, benefits providers, internal systems, and identity/access management platforms using Workday Studio, APIs/web services, and SFTP/file-based integrations.

The Workday Application Manager will serve as the primary internal technical owner and senior administrator for the Workday platform, coordinating specialized Workday resources while remaining hands-on with administration, configuration, security, troubleshooting, and complex platform needs. This position is not expected to be the sole administrator or subject-matter expert across every Workday module. Given the breadth of the platform, TCH utilizes a combination of internal resources, Application Management Services (AMS), and specialized Workday contractors across different functional and technical areas.

The ideal candidate is a senior Workday professional who can determine when work should be handled directly versus assigned to a specialized resource, oversee those resources through completion, and maintain overall accountability for the stability, security, and ongoing development of the Workday environment.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for platform support needs and senior administrator for the Workday platform.
  • Coordinate and oversee contracted AMS, specialized consultants, staff-augmentation resources, and implementation partners across functional and technical areas.
  • Assess incidents, enhancements, and projects; determine the appropriate Workday expertise required; coordinate assignments; and maintain accountability through completion.
  • Perform hands-on Workday administration and advanced configuration, particularly for complex, sensitive, or cross-functional requirements.
  • Serve as a lead administrator for Workday security, including security groups, domains, business process security policies, role assignments, access troubleshooting, and periodic reviews.
  • Configure and maintain Workday business processes, tenant settings, reporting, calculated fields, condition rules, and related platform configuration.
  • Oversee and troubleshoot Workday integrations, including Workday Studio, APIs/web services, delivered connectors, and SFTP/file-based integrations, leveraging specialized integration resources where appropriate.
  • Coordinate Workday releases, testing, configuration changes, production deployments, issue resolution, and vendor escalations.
  • Ensure work performed by internal and external resources follows appropriate documentation, testing, security, change-management, and internal AGILE processes.
  • Support implementation and transition-to-operations activities for new Workday capabilities, including Procurement and CLM.
  • Maintain sufficient internal knowledge of the Workday environment to ensure continuity and avoid excessive dependency on individual contractors or vendors.

Qualifications Required:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
  • 7+ years of Workday administration, configuration, consulting, or application-management experience, preferably in a multi-module environment.
  • Strong hands-on experience with at least one major Workday functional area, such as HCM or Financials, with demonstrated ability to work across additional Workday modules.
  • Strong knowledge of Workday security administration, business process configuration, reporting, calculated fields, and tenant administration.
  • Experience supporting or overseeing Workday integrations, including APIs/web services, Workday Studio, delivered connectors, and/or file-based integrations.
  • Experience working with AMS providers, implementation partners, consultants, or staff-augmentation resources and coordinating specialized technical or functional resources.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex Workday issues, evaluate proposed solutions, understand cross-module impacts, and determine when specialized expertise is required.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to partner across HR, Finance, Procurement, and IT.

Qualifications Desired:
  • Formal Workday training and/or Workday Pro certifications in Platform Administration, Security, HCM, Financial Management, Adaptive Planning, or other relevant areas are strongly preferred.
  • Experience with multiple Workday areas including HCM, Financials, Advanced Compensation, Expenses, Adaptive Planning, Procurement, CLM, security, and integrations is preferred but not required.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Work is generally sedentary in nature. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.

Employees in this position will report to the office 3 days per week. Onsite work requirements may change at any time.Occasional travel may be required.

The anticipated annual salary range for NY-based candidates for this position is $120,000-$150,000. Base salary and position level will be determined by the role, experience, skill set and location. For eligible positions, discretionary incentive compensation may be awarded contingent on personal and company performance. Our benefits program includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k plan with company contribution and company match, tuition reimbursement and more.
