POSITION:
The New Jersey Turnpike Authority is seeking applications for a Workday Administrator position in the ITS department located at Woodbridge, NJ headquarters.
Works under the general direction of the Deputy Chief Information Officer. This role will provide hands-on support for the implementation, maintenance, and ongoing operation of the Workday system. This role will serve as a key member of the Workday implementation team, partnering across functional and technical workstreams to support system design, configuration, testing, and deployment. The Workday Administrator will ensure functionality, stability, security, and expandability of the Authority's Business Administration Services environment, which commensurate with the Authority's goals and requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develop deep knowledge across Workday modules-including security, integration, and reporting-and help translate business requirements into system solutions, during implementation.
2. Transition into a primary system owner, responsible for day-to-day administration, system optimization, and continuous improvement, post go-live.
3. Serve as an active member of the Workday implementation team, supporting system configuration across modules.
4. Coordinate with functional leads to translate business requirements into Workday design and configuration decisions.
5. Support development and validation of Workday security models (roles, domains, business process security).
6. Participate in system testing cycles (unit, system integration, and user acceptance testing), including test script execution and defect resolution.
7. Assist in data conversion activities, including data validation, cleansing, and reconciliation.
8. Support development of reports, dashboards, and analytics aligned to business and operational needs.
9. Coordinate with implementation partners and vendors (e.g. SI, Workday) to troubleshoot issues and support solution design.
10. Contribute to documentation of system configuration, processes, and support procedures.
11. Build foundational knowledge across Workday modules to enable long-term system ownership.
12. Perform day-to-day administration of the Workday system, including system monitoring and support.
13. Manage and maintain Workday security configurations (roles, access, permissions).
14. Track, manage, and resolve system issues and support tickets, including coordination with Workday support.
15. Serve as a primary liaison with Workday for system-related issues, updates, and escalations.
16. Support system updates and releases, including coordination, testing, and validation.
17. Assist with data integrity checks and system audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
18. Support system testing activities, including regression testing for updates and fixes.
19. Partner with functional and technical teams to support system changes and enhancements.
20. Identify opportunities for system optimization and continuous improvement.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor's or associate degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
2. Five (5) or more years' experience in systems or application management and/or administration related to oversight of Human Resources or Finance information systems, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
3. Workday HCM Pro certification, preferred.
4. Experience with Workday releases, updates, and system administration.
5. Understanding of HR systems and business processes.
6. Knowledgeable in system implementation, testing, and validation processes.
7. Familiar with security and access management processes.
8. Experience with business process configuration, issue tracking, and troubleshooting.
9. Must have a valid New Jersey driver's license.
BENEFITS & PAY:
This position is represented by AFSCME Local 3914. Members will receive an annual increment (PIP) to their base salary per the guidelines of the CBA. This position is eligible for flextime hours upon meeting the requirements outlined in the Authority's policy and at the Authority's ultimate discretion. Additionally, this position is eligible for telework upon meeting the requirements outlined in the Authority's policy, such as performance expectations and applicable waiting periods, and at the Authority's ultimate discretion. Flex time and Telework are not guaranteed. Toll-free commutation is available for employee travel to and from work on the NJ Turnpike and Garden State Parkway.
