Cherry Hill OB/GYN, an Axia Women's Health care center with 10 providers, is seeking a Full-Time
Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP).
- 3 New Jersey Office Locations: Mount Laurel, Turnersville, and Hammonton
The
Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive, specialized care to women across the lifespan, focusing on reproductive health, gynecological issues, family planning, and wellness promotion.
- Practices under the standard procedure established for the Nurse Practitioner role consistent with company policy and in accordance with all legal requirements.
- Conducts age-appropriate assessments of patients, including history taking and physical examination consistent with department protocol.
- Performs routine physical examinations within scope of practice, including pelvic examinations, breast examinations, PAP tests, and any relevant infection screenings. Performs IUD and Nexplanon insertions/removals, Endometrial Biopsies, works with Pessaries - education & maintenance; may perform Colposcopies.
- Provides education on women's issues, preventative care, contraceptive methods, and lifestyle modifications.
- Orders diagnostic tests and prescribes medications within scope of practice.
- Provides expert, compassionate care for women during the menopausal transition (perimenopause, menopause, postmenopausal) by managing symptoms like hot flashes, mood swings, and sleep issues, educating patients on treatment options (hormonal/non-hormonal), offering lifestyle advice (diet, exercise, supplements), and supporting overall well-being with evidence-based care.
- Manages prenatal, perinatal, and postpartum visits, screening for pregnancy complications and evaluating physical and mental wellbeing after birth.
- Confers with patients in person and by phone/electronically, collaborates with others in the department to ensure a smooth flow of patient care consistent with established quality indicators and participates in the overall coordination of patient care.
- Performs assessment/data collection in an ongoing systematic manner, focusing on physiological, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual and cognitive status, patient/family education, family involvement, and patient advocacy.
- Consults with supervising physicians or other clinicians as dictated by patient needs and assessment findings.
- Participates with physicians and other clinicians in the department to ensure effective patient care consistent with quality indicators for patients cared for in the designated service.
- Reviews medical record for follow-up or ordering of diagnostic studies under established protocols.
- Establishes effective working relationships with members of the health care team, patients, and families.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and applies safety principles as identified by the practice.
- Performs efficiently in emergency situations following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate people, and documenting events.
- Demonstrates knowledge of legal issues, including patient confidentiality and risk management in all aspects of patient care and unit functioning.
- Demonstrates a service philosophy in all interactions with patients, families, and all members of the health care team.
- Demonstrates proficiency in the use of computers and telecommunication modalities to document, track and convey information.

Qualifications:- Strong understanding of healthcare principles, including anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and pathophysiology.
- Ability to analyze complex situations, make sound clinical judgments, and adapt treatment plans as necessary.
- Effective communication with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals. Ability to explain diagnoses, treatment options, and procedures clearly and empathetically.
- Strong computer proficiency and understanding and knowledge of EHR and healthcare technologies.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team.
- Willingness to pursue continuing education and stay updated on advances in Women's Health.
- Must be able to work at each practice location as scheduled - Mount Laurel, Turnersville, and Hammonton, NJ
Required Education & Experience:- Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing (MS, MSN, or DNP).
- Board certification in WHNP, FNP, or ANP
- 1-2 years' advanced practice experience in Women's Health.
- Experience with high-risk Ob patients
